Bush - Above The Law? (by BigBadJohnny)

BigBadJohnny's picture

Great pic of Bush in college!

It's been a long week. Following are some new comments, and an encore post. Find also, a great photo!
Following his term in office, President Bush should be tried for his deceptions, his recurrent course of being above the law.
He should be imprisoned for the lives of 2500 American troops, and what he has done to them, their surviving comrades, their families, the people of Iraq, through stress, irresponsible bombing, birth defects caused by depleted uranium, the threat to Valerie Plame..
Most of this is recounted, later in this posting.

North Korea has expressed a willingness to negotiate it's missile launch. In spite of this, some Bush advisers are suggesting a pre-emptive strike on the missile, on the launching pad.

Bush refuses to negotiate with al Quada, Hammas, North Korea...
He prefers to "send messages", operate from a position of blindness. In negotiations, we aren't obliged to make any concessions, offer any "deals", at least we have a dialog with the enemy.

Bush Should Be Imprisoned
In those fright filled days following the destruction of the World trade center, in New York City, USA, the president took a reactionary stance, and made the determination to strike Iraq which was later found to have little or no involvement. Many of the 9/11 perpetrators were of Saudi Arabian descent.
Inspectors were on the ground with authority to inspect any area of Iraq, whenever they chose. They uncovered no Weapons of Mass destruction. The Iraqi Air Force was, as shown in satellite surveillance photos, buried in the desert.
The President believed weapon grade Uranium was being purchased by Iraq from Africa. An investigation proved this was false. When the President sought to suppress the indications of the investigation, career diplomat Joseph Wilson came forward bringing the results of the investigation directly to the American people. Infuriated, G W Bush sought to punish Wilson by exposing and endangering Wilson's wife, Valerie Plume. Iraq had no nuclear capacity, weapon oriented or otherwise.

President Bush violated the law by ordering phone and E-mail wiretaps on messages involving parties in Iraq, in their communications with U S residents. I'm Bush's worst critic, but I feel in this matter his heart may have been in the right place.

The President, in what appears to be unpardonable profiteering, sought to turn American Ports over to Dubai, an area which gives refuge to terrorists, and recognizes Al Quada. We can only speculate on his reasoning. He attempted to make this change while congress was on break.
Those supporting the President might liken his thinking to the Circus Wild Animal Tamer, who believes, if he takes the attitude the Tiger will be friendly and cooperative, the Tiger will be. Right!
Also consider the currently pervasive G W Bush technique of 'Threatening', which allows him far greater range in waging war. In this technique, the president 'threatens' his world neighbors, with or without appropriate diplomacy, Iran, Korea, and others, with, say, a preemptive military strike. When they continue with that which displeases Bush, the threat places Congress in an awkward position, requiring more compliance.
Bush continues to deplete national programs to continue his war. His aptitude in matters economic seems to be limited to "Give Americans money- they will SPEND it! Talk about Voodoo Economics! Consider if you will the Law of Diminishing Returns, and the issue of overseas spending.
Bush refuses to open a dialog with Osama Bin Laden, the acknowledged leader of the Terrorist forces. His father (Bush's father) also refused to communicate, particularly on the issue of linkage and the Persian Gulf. Bin Laden made what appeared to be a good faith call to negotiation, the President remained steadfast.
We have nothing to lose by negotiating; we are not obliged to make any deals, or accept any offers.any deals. Silence breeds misunderstanding. The President appears to be too unsure, too lacking in confidence to negotiate.
In any case, I feel this president should be impeached, removed, and imprisoned.

response to TRUPTIMODI

TROPTIMODI at this site submited an article today praising our wonderful President Bush. That posting opened an opportunity for me to speak what is on my mind:

"George W.Bush intentionally deceived the American people re: WMD's, Iraqs intent to obtain uranium, the source of the 9/11 attacks, and other matters. He jeapordized Valorie Plame. Prisoners have been held illegally and tortured within his chain of command.
His policy for the economy, "give money to taxpayers; they will SPEND it"
2500+ American troops have died. 100,00 Iraqis have died. Men, women children.
He attacked an innocent Biblical country.
His war has cost us 410 Billion Dollars.
He raised the national debt to an unrealistic 8.3 Trillion dollars.
He authorized illegal wiretaps
He permitted the use of depleted uranium, which causes birth defects, and Childhood cancers (this is only now coming to light)
he is too insecure to have a dialogue with al Quida, Hammas, North korea... "We do not negotiate with terrorists" is a foolish policy, meaning we operate froma position of blindness. It's a cop out.
GWBush is without doubt the WORST President in the history of the US. he is a profiteer.
He tried to install ther united Arab Emirite into our ports while the congress was on break.
He should be impeached, removed IMPRISONED"

Americans Have The Right To Vote

Americans Have The Right To Vote and the message in the next election should make it clear that we won't tolerate a party who aren't representing the American people. It's funny....No one I tak to admits they voted for Bush or a stacked house/senate!

I voted for Bush, twice!

He has his warts, but he was much better than that turd Kerry and that wack-job Gore! If you think that the Dems "represent" the people, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale...

Actually it looks like the Repubs are finally starting to listen to the people on the illegal immigration invasion issue. Bush isn't, of course, and probably never will.

Wolfgang

At the moment I am writing this, there proportedly are 1200+ persons on site.
Good to know we are reaching people!
MSZola notes the current administration has no regard for the will of the hard working people who pay their salaries.
Bushes popularity is at an unprecedented low, yet he carries on as if he were the great leader.
I conceed, he speaks well, and reads brilliantly.
Wolfgang also agrees.
Everyone is against an immediate pullout of iraq.
What should we do about North korea?

What I think is not as Important as

What I think is not as Important as what the majority of the citizens of this country thinks. Here is another IWON.com poll and the reults:

Missile Defense?
With North Korea planning a test launch of a long-range missile, Pentagon officials yesterday were reportedly considering the possibility of shooting it down as it flies over the Pacific. Officials are also considering factors that would argue against such a response, including the risk of shooting and missing, the possibility of escalating tensions further with Pyongyang and a strong international reaction against such an action. (AP)
If North Korea test launches a long-range missile, do you think the U.S. should attempt to shoot it down?

50% - Yes

28% - No

21% - I'm not sure

As far as Bush acting above the law....No One should be above the law.
Once the Republicans lose Senate and House seats, I wonder just how secure their polital futures will be for not listening to their constituents. They are SUPPOSED to represent the people of their districts...ALL PEOPLE....not just the rich ones!

Bush, North Korea

Previous administratons have responded particularly to the wealthy among us.

The Bush administration ignores rich and poor alike, with the exception of a small clandestine group of Halliburton People.
The idea of shooting the missile out of the air is ludicrous. Why don't we just go to North korea and spit in their faces! To shoot the missile down would place them in a corner in which a violent response would be the only possible response.
In the 1950's (or it may have been the 60's) Americans were told we had a superb, nearly infallible missile defense shield. Now we are told that that is not true. Actually, if an attack were launched, we would find ourselves in deep trouble.
