Break out the Kleenex, this is a real tear jerker for Sacrifice!

In a rare display of empathy, President Bush announced why he gave up golf.

“I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf,” he said. “I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.”

This is his way in which he has tried to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers and their families.

I am sure everyone who has lost someone in Iraq is comforted to know that the President has given up golf.

GOLF?

If he really wants to show sacrifice, he can grab a gun, head for Iraq, and LEAD our soldiers. He too, can deal with the sand fleas, suffer under the scorching sun, and endure sand storms and IED's. Let him JOIN our real men and women and find out just what it takes to sacrifice!

I think giving up golf is a great sacrifice. Why, just think, he's given thousands of Catholics something new to consider giving up for Lent. He's given millions of Americans something to think about every time they hit the links. That's right, as you're playing your regular Sunday afternoon 18 you can think about all those boys over in Iraq, sleeping in sand traps (what fun!), aiming for a hole in one with their bazookas (or whatever the hell they're using nowdays), and praying like hell that they don't end up in the 19th hole.

Shit. Why am I not surprised that President Moron came out with this little tidbit?

he really thinks it's a touching story....like we should all fall on our knees and express overwhelming gratitude that he has done this for the parents of G.I.s killed in action....that somehow it will assauge their grief. That somehow, he too is sacrificing for the country.....GOLF?
