Blogitive: The Party's Over For BloggerParty

blogging | Get Paid to Write | writing

I was an early user of Blogitive, back in the days when it used to be fun. I made up rhymes and other bits of nonsense and included a link as well. It was good for creativity and gave a few people a laugh as well, but it looks like the Blogitive party is over.

It seems that blogs on WritingUp, BloggerParty and a few others are no longer going to be accepted from today. If you have a blog on one of those sites and have already had your post accepted, you will be paid, but they're not planning to issue any more offers. Here's the post that lays it all out.

Blogitive started as an easy source of income, but it's not so easy now. I haven't been posting as many Blogitive posts because of the 'two posts in between rule'. Apart from that, I haven't had much time, so writing three posts to make $5 is less cost effective than writing one. I know some people can do it, but it's been difficult to fit it in with my other writing work. Other paid posting sites don't impose those rules (at least not yet), and I can write a fun post in five minutes and get paid.

Maybe Blogitive has done me a favour. I won't waste time looking for BloggerParty offers that I have to reject. I'll probably spend less time blogging. Who knows? I've still got a couple of other blogs they will accept, if I can be bothered to write anything for them. I hope you do too.

oh yeah i read that one

fortunately tho' my blogitive is on blogcharm and multiply! i think that both sites actually do NOT want blogitive ads on their "free blogs" because they already have their own advertising ... ain't fair is it?

I also think so

party looks over for many of us.

Sounds to me ...

... like somebody at Blogitive looked at the hit counts especially on sponsored posts at places like Bloggerparty, and their beancounters realized that 5 clams for 10 hits was throwing good money after bad.

Can't say I'm sorry. But you knew that already.

I think it's ridiculous.

I think it's ridiculous. They have already deleted my blog off their system. I won't be doing anymore blogging for them.

They act like we are making a fortune on blogger party. It's ridiculous that they cut that off.

Slammed by Blogitive

i just read the notice on their site and am really disappointed. i had come to rely on the few bucks i was making off of them, because to a stay at home mom that is out of work cuz she is pregnant, 5 bucks here and there was better than nothing. i am really bummed about this. i have been with them for a while now so this has come as an unwelcome surprise. first they kept adding all these restrictions to our posts and then bam! out of nowhere, with practically no warning we are exiled. i'll stick to writing for AC from now on.

I haven't seen the post on

I haven't seen the post on the site that says as much, but I did see that my Bloggerparty blog has been deleted. Oh well. It's been a nice run, and I paid off two and a half credit cards, and bought a digital camcorder so I can do some Associated Content videos.

Sure, I'm bummed, but when PayPerPost went this direction, it forced me to think of new things. I started writing for Associated Content because of it, and I'm just now starting to get offers apart from that. I started my Tblog site so that I could do PayPerPost there, and discovered along the way that I can actually write. So sure, I miss the $5 here and there. I'm sad that this last check, which was really great, is gonna be greatly reduced. But it will force me into discovering bigger and better opportunities elsewhere.

(And damnit! Wouldn't you know... I finally talk my hubby into blogging here so that he can get in on the Blogitive, and they end it. At least it will keep me free to complain about him when I want to. lol)

Blogitive

Thanks for your comments everyone. I didn't realise sites had complained about blogitive, bugsey, and yes, I know your views o ceallaigh. There was a point when this was all that was bringing money in, so it was very useful. But I've found other ways to make money like ModelMom and IntricateGirl, so I'll just have to focus on those instead.

Great thread

Does anyone know anywhere else that pays just as good as Associated Content?

Constant Content is a site...

for you to look for. Its also an international site, unlike Associated Content who won't pay non-Americans.

Thanks, huttriver. I think

Thanks, huttriver. I think I've got an account there, though I haven't done much with it.
