Blogging - the discipline

To be a successful blogger you need to discipline yourself to

(a) Write a daily entry

(b) Read and respond to other blogs

(c) Keep increasing your readership and your downline (referrals)

Now, for most writers, to create 100 - 500 words at a sitting is fairly easy to do - the hard part is creating quality work - work that is interesting to a greater readership. I think rants, and articles of whingeing do not qualify for quality content. You might find that you already ahve lots of material hiding in your computer too. Or you might choose to write 7 - 10 pieces, to submit - one at a time for 7 - 10 days.

Reading other blogs. See what is being read. What is popular. comment - you'll find that when you comment on someone's blog, (in a nice way of course) they will read your work.

Send a link to your latest blog to friends, or if you think someone might be interested in a particular article send the link, suggest they register, and participate in the fun of blogging. Learn how to promote yourself and your blog - there are plenty of articles around. Keep building your referral ist - but don't spam!

In summary - use blogging to improve your writing, and increase your readership. And along the way, you should create a nice income - little or big, it's up to you.
