Blogger Party User Interface FAQ

Part of our User Guide - refer to it to answer any other questions you may have.

How do I make words bold or italics?

For HTML tips, see here. You can also use BBCode, or our handy formatting bar which allows you to quote, bold, italize, link, and add images easily.

How do I add a picture to my blogs?

You can add images to your blogs one of two ways. You can either use the / tags (read more about this here) or you can use the little button that looks like a plus sign and a small picture at the bottom left of the textarea you enter your blog at.

What are party points?

Party points are a way to reward our members for blog entries and comments. Right now, they don't really do anything, but in the future you will be able to trade them in for rewards.

I want to tell people about my blog - what is my URL (web address)?

Your URL that goes directly to your blog is http://bloggerparty.com/blog/YOURUSERNAME. Right now, though, if you want to receive referral credit, you must point people to your referral address. This can be found in your profile by going to "my account".

Yes, I have hundreds of Party Points ...

I'm afraid subdomain urls

I'm afraid subdomain urls are not in use. The url to link directly to your blog is: http://bloggerparty.com/blog/princess_sara
Note the underscore between princess and sara due to the space in your username.

Your post was filtered by

Your post was filtered by the spam filter. Please do not add Google code to your posts (this is added to each page automatically) and limit the number of urls within each post to one or two only.
Apologies for the harshness of the filter but you would be surprised at how much real spam is filtered each day.

Kind regards

Always keep backup copies

It is a good idea for any blogger here to keep a backup Word copy of any post. That way, if it gets eliminated by the spam filter, you can reinstall it. It does, though, wipe out all your previous hits and you have to inform anyone who had linked to the original that you had to recreate a new version. By the way, the spam filter is very selective. I see all kinds of actual spam get through. However, I have not spammed at all on my posts but they get abruptly eliminated because the spam filter "thinks" it is spam. The URL limit is ridiculous; yes, they need to be limited, but just one or two? It's obvious your company has no real interest in this site succeeding. It's WritingUp all over again.

Adsense only goes three blogs deep?

Why is it that Adsense ads are only attached to the top three blog posts? Some of my older blogs get the most hits as they spread through the blogoshpere, but since no Adsense ads appear on them, zero income. Is that your policy, the top three blogs only get ads?

Googles Policy

Its Googles policy - you can only show a maximum of 3 Google ads on one page.

When visitors click through to read a post they will see the Google ads for every post and 50% of the time it will be your Google publisher ID.

Yes, 3 Google ads per page ...

... but only my top 3 pages are getting any ads at all. Is there an overall limit to pages that can get ads? If this is true, then your site is sorely limited in the income Google will allow it to generate. You're sure about this?

All of your pages display Google Adsense

All of your pages display Google Adsense - the limit is only on the number of ad blocks per page (3).

Can we use Widgets?

Since Widgets is such a heavy sponsor of Bloggerparty, is there some way we can use them on our blogs? I tried and was denied. If not, why let them advertise at all? Won't they just make it easier for bloggers here to go somewhere else? I don't understand the logic.

Widgetbucks is a new sponsor

Widgetbucks is a new advertiser - they are one of several sponsors who help to pay towards the server and administration costs involved with running Bloggerparty.
