BlogFeast is Down - Again??

Man, just when I relent and go back there, they go down again. This time their domain name has expired and is awaiting renewal.

Admin hasn't been around BlogFeast for a while and, considering how attentive he used to be, I'm wondering if he plans on renewing the site. That has me worried. And the fact that I'm finding that not all my BlogFeast posts are cached on Google has me pissed. Crap!

BlogFeast started out so great. Admin was attentive and supported our efforts to keep out the sploggers. In fact, he initiated those efforts. He did his best to fix any problems as fast as possible and he kept upgrading and adding cool things to the site - like the 3rd Adsense block. But after the problems with moving to a new server, which caused the site to be down for over a month, things just have not been the same.

Now, I'm unhappy with the site and I'm also sad that Admin seems to be disenchanted with the site. Manodogs has talked about how expensive it is to put up and maintain a community blog site like BF and BP and how little income they really bring in. I hope the BF Admin isn't having money problems. I sincerely hope that the site is making enough revenue for him to continue maintaining it. But, at the same time, I wish he would get his shit together and keep the site up!

I'm so glad I've been putting my major blogging efforts into The Willow Does Gary Oldman and The Willow Does Movies. These are two new Blogger blogs I've started recently because I spend so much time watching movies. May as well write about 'em, I spend half my life watchin' 'em.

My latest favorite is "21 Grams" starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts. What a fantastic movie. You should check it out, especially if you are a fan of Sean Penn or Naomi Watts.

Well, guess my community activity will be confined to BloggerParty from now on. I don't like all the sploggers but I do like the regular good bloggers. And I'm just not really interested in jumping around from blogsite to blogsite.

for them to come back up. Of course, they had technical problems that time. But I wonder about the money issues and if they will renew the site because of that.

for me, I guess. I got so peeved at BF and the amount of time it takes to even move around on site, and all the messing up of my posts that happen, that I recently pulled every blog post - but the one telling folks where to find me.

This site has major traffic and fewer folks on line at a time. That means it has reader traffic. For anyone just starting a blog, it means it will get read, even if they don't know how to promote it.

I hope there is not a limit on blogs here, as I plan to have several niche specific blogs and test the water for adsense income. In the meantime, Jellen will still post family friendly posts.

Thanks PW for posting about your BF and BP concerns. It lets us all feel like we are not alone in our assumptions.

I've felt that way since BF went down for over a month. Catfish warned us and he just moved over here permanently. He was the smart one. Frankly, I started spending more time at BF because of all the sploggers here. But I give up. I'll try to coexist peacefully with the sploggers. At least I know my blogs won't disappear every couple of months.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Jellen. Very glad to hear you'll be doing more poetry.

multiple blogs. There must be a limit on one or two. So Blogger will be in for a few of my extras.

BlogEvolve's problems include an absent Admin and new bloggers who post multiples in a row. We also have a nasty splogger that attaches to Admin's posts and we have no way to rid ourselves of the problem.

But BE is a friendly bunch. Readership in visitors at any time is low, but as all the great seasoned bloggers come check us out, who knows?

because it's so new and there are so few readers. We all did that with BlogFeast and it's been a long hard struggle to get readers over there. And then we lose them every time the site goes down. I just don't relish the idea of starting all that with another new site.

But, frankly, I'm sick to death of BF going down.
