I am earning most on the heliumknowledge.com site. Not much, but comparatively, when you talk of REAL MONEY it's a lot better than other blogs.
Heliumknowledege.com is a site that supposedly "shares knowledge" and pays for you to answer some questions and to compare the answers of the rest.
The problem I have however, is the BLATANT plagiarism that there is in THAT site plus incredibly stupid answers you HAVE to compare.
Take for instance the question, "WHY?". --- I mean, if it weren't for my mad philosophical flair, I wouldn't have earned from that one. (And don't ask me "why what""? --- take it as it- it doesn't make sense, okay?)
Then you get extremely specific questions like what is the Leroy Steele Prize and you SEE that the answers have been cut and pasted from probably one of the google searches. Thus, you do GET the urge to "be different" and prove that you're NOT into copying by saying " Oh yeah, Leroy Steele was my drunk uncle who gave away fish prizes after he married a mermaid". Of course, some may not find that funny - even as a "statement" against anti-plagiarism, but I wanted to be "a lot more original". The specificity of some questions actually makes it "easier" and "tempting" to cut and paste. There is likewise no way to FLAG it down, which can be really annoying.
Then you have to contend with some weirdo's who simply type in "I don't know". Why even try and reply to a question IF you don't know dummie! though I ust admit that I have rated the "I don't know" MORE than the pliagiarized copy because I rationalize that at least that's an honest answer.
Sample questions:
How do you get 1000 from Betflower? (which is really a marketing thingy and no one really gets 1000 bucks fron Betflower - even if I WILL put it on my site)
Is it safe to wear blue jeans? -- c'mon, is it safe to wear panties? Is it safe to put on your slippers? -- get the drift? I mean if it were a humor BLOG then perhaps, that would be amusing, but for a "sharing knowledge" sort of thingy some questions admittedly lack common sense.
I did like one answer to the question "What is the most popular noodles in India or something?--"I don't care"-- I gave it a BEST by FAR rating
There are also replies that do NOT at all answer the question which I do not even read. I mean, what about a direct answer without the opinionated litany!
Then there was one question on why Americans seem to lack health insurance which is a validly sensible question, and BUT then I get to read moronic answers like " Here in India, we can go to the hospital anytime, blah blah blah ..." Heck! And it isn't even website in INDIA, it's in HONGKONG!
So, I can hardly stay for more than an hour at at Helium without going back to MY FAVORITE BLOGGING PLACE- yes, company counts, even if they do not pay as much because after a while of comparing intellectual dishonesty, you feel like going back "home" to a more secure place where you do NOT have to write in awe about noodles from india nor get some sermon about how the West "badly" treats poor third world nations! I also would suggest that some people at Helium do get extra English lessons!-- I mean, though it's a HK site, I would think that it still is primarily and English site, isn't it?
That's a great money site! But they do have a LOT of improvement to do -- I have however checked out their community forum and it seems they are trying THEIR BEST to do make SURE that they're weeding out the "content thieves" but one post their struck me, it said : "It is in the culture to copy and nothing can stop copying here".
Thus, I deeply sympathize with the forum community THEREHelium could be one of the BEST - if not the BEST blogger place in the whole worldwide web. ((sighs))
