A few months ago I started this blog so that I could write anonymously about some things going on in my life. I had another blog on another site but I wanted to keep my other blog free of the issues that I wrote about here at Blogger Party.

Well, now the Universe is throwing me another curve. My beloved BlogFeast has been down for several days and this is not the first time it’s happened. I’m going to be patient and give the BF Admin time to work out the problems with the new server but, in the meantime, I have got to have my blog-fix.

Sorta bad. Meaning that I do pretty good at playing the actual cards but I just can’t get the bluffing down. When I’ve got a really good hand I can usually follow through and win it. But if I’ve got a so-so good hand, I can usually get bluffed out. And half the time, I would have won the hand if I weren’t so easily bluffed. And sometimes I know a player is bluffing and winning and I get pissed and decide I’m going to take them down and then on the hand that I decide to go for it, they finally come up with a winner.

Technorati Profile

This is just a short post to claim my blog for Technorati. It's 2:30 AM and I've gotten my sleep schedule all out of kilter again. Someday soon I'm going to have to stay up all night and all day to get myself back in synch. I hate it when I do this. It's just a complete lack of self-discipline - not making myself put the book down and go to bed - or turn the computer off an go to bed.

The Universe is trying to tell me something and I’m pretty sure I know what part of the message is. In the past year my life has turned completely around. I’ve gone from being a professional with a really decent income and a secure job to unemployed and, apparently, unemployable.

After sending in hundreds of applications and a couple of hundred interviews I have yet to be offered a full-time job. O sure, I’ve gotten the odd temp job and I was even offered a long-term temp job – one that would never be permanent and paid much less than what I was used to making. I turned that one down and boy am I eating crow over it now.

When I look back on the last 50 odd years of my life I sometimes wonder just what I have accomplished. I'm not at the top of my field - actually, I don't really have a field. I haven't amassed wealth or property, unless you want to count a tiny little house, a few rings and a few bracelets. I don't have a string of degrees behind my name. I have traveled but not what you'd call extensively - not by a long shot.
