Attention Holocaust Deniers, Step Up, I Offer You
a microphone. I will never silence you because that would imply legitimacy.

Some people are of the mistaken assumption that all Jews want to muzzle, silence, deny a voice to the rabid Holocaust deniers like Zundl, David Irving, Duke.

Breakfast in Jordan,...Shalom, Sala'am, Peace - Lets Do It!

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on June 22, 2006 - 10:47am.

Breakfast in Jordan, Sala'am, Shalom, Please!

This morning a powerful group had breakfast together and its about time!

King Abdullah, as brilliantly Machiavellian as his dad, the first king of Jordan, decided to step up, speak up, and offer up the beginning of a dialogue for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, hopefully leading to peace.

Nobel Laureate Itzchak Perez (former PM and now FM of Israel, despite originating on the other side of the political spectrum, Olmert's cabinet is a very healthy mix of hawks and doves), Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, and Mahmoud Abbas aka Abu Mazen, the largely symbolic and impotent though intelligent and moderate PM of the Pal Authority, all sat down to have a luscious and elegant breakfast with the diminutive Oxford-educated King Abdullah of Jordan.

What would you do if an average of EIGHTY rockets a month kept landing on your town??

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on June 18, 2006 - 10:41pm.

If 80 Rockets Per Month Landed on Your Town What

If 80 rockets pre month landed on your town, on your kids' school, your monuments, your businesses, parks, and buildings of worship, what would you do?

That's what the citizens of Sderot in Southern Israel experience and it is so commonplace the media - right wing, left wing, alternative, all of them in the freer world - barely report them, if they do, they refer to the very deadly but inaccurate rockets as "homemade."

MYTH

“Palestine was always an Arab country.
FACT

The term "Palestine" is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century B.C.E., settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what are now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century C.E., after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word "Filastin" is derived from this Latin name.3

Many Arabs in the MidEast ALSO opposed to nuclear Iran.

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on May 28, 2006 - 9:14pm.

Below is a compilation of various responses in the Arab press to the concept of a nuclear=armed Iran. To all you naive ones who say, so what? Why cant they have nukes too?

Stop insulating yourself with dreamy idealistic media like Independent. Take a look everywhere.

Arab Media Reactions to Iran's Nuclear Project
By H. Avraham*

Introduction

Iran's announcement on April 11, 2006 that it had succeeded in enriching uranium evoked mixed reactions in the Arab media. Many columnists expressed apprehension about Iran's nuclear program, and opposition to it. They argued that a nuclear Iran posed a threat to the Arab countries in general and to the Gulf states in particular, and that it was likely to spark an arms race in the region. Other columnists warned that a leak in one of Iran's nuclear facilities could cause grave ecological disaster, on the scale of Chernobyl. Additionally, President Ahmadinejad was described as a new Hitler threatening to unleash catastrophe upon the world.

poem - Borderline Blues

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on May 26, 2006 - 7:38pm.

Borderline Blues

Blown about by winds far stronger than I,
Forever spinning and whirling, with nothing to anchor me
I spin away from those closest to me because I am empty inside.

Yearning, waiting. Forever
Waiting and yearning - to be filled, to be stuffed, by a
Needle, or a cock, or a scalpel.

I suck on fat joints the way I suck any
Man=s dick, it fills me up with something; that=s way

Who said Iran never attacked the US???!!! Remember the Revolution, remember the poor American hostages ?

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on May 22, 2006 - 6:27pm.

Need I remind all you Americans that Iran has indeed attacked the US many times?

Most notably and easily validated is the 1978 (yr?) revolution during which the US Embassy was taken over by a mob, and the Americans there were held hostage for more than one year?

Dont do them a disservice by painting poor little Iran as a "third world" country when, in fact, it has developed nukes on its own and when, in fact, it has national wealth and resources rivalling many Western nations as well as thriving industries and economy. Iran is one of those places where a woman risks injury, insult, possibly death, for venturing out into the streets without either a male companion and/or proper attire (no earlobes showing!)

I am fed up with anti-Bush ranting and whining, STOP IT ALREADY!

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on May 20, 2006 - 7:24pm.

Hey folks,
Before you bite my head off for the title of the post, please note: I am not denying anyone the right to their opinion or the expression of said opinion (no matter how odious, so this includes neo-Nazis and Muslim fanatics), BUT I am also entitled to my opinion and the expression thereof so I am hereby posting a (partially ironic) rant, and it might even be grammatically incorrect!:

Ok folks, gather round and start casting stones...

I am SO guilty of everything I scorned in this blog entry here and I am SORRY for sounding like an uptight school marm so I absolutely deserve the indefensible insults I got from my former nemesis now turned buddy Radical Patriot!

In posting comments (which is understandable) and even blog entries (yikes!) I have noticed stupid errors, typose, spelling mistakes, and even, especially, run-on sentences, which is how I always write but still.

Let's all dare Tom Cruise to eat the placenta live on TV!

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on April 20, 2006 - 3:17pm.

Hi everyone,

Ok, I always knew that Tom Cruise was a weirdo (just had that feeling) but now I'm convinced he's a true nut, what the professionals call a "psychotic" individual who believes in the fake world he has created.

I sure hope his wife doesn't get post-partum depression because he will not sympathize.\

He seems abusive and controlling. Yuck.

A short man overcompensating for his lack of height (and maybe other physical shortcomings as well).

I feel sorry for him. With all his money, he is still an idiot!

So, what do you say. Let's challenge the man to put his money where his mouth is...eat the placenta live on tv or pay $500,000 to a charity other than the Democratic Party (ok, that was just a joke).
cheers

How my little girl made a tough teenaged punk cry!

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on April 19, 2006 - 10:36pm.

Want to hear a cool story?

About 3 or 4 years ago one summer, I was picking my daughter (8 yrs) and son (4) up from their daycamp and the counsellor there pulled me aside urgently just as I arrived at my daughter's group.

Slightly alarmed, I listened as this pierced, painted, punk teenager teared up while telling me something that had happened that day involving my daughter.

There was a special needs girl in my daughter's group - she had Down's syndrome and it looked like more than a mild case - she also had a shadow with her.

Ok folks, you're not ALL guilty but I have seen a common mistake on this site which never fails to drive me up the wall and it is a mistake which my 11 yr old daughter would never make so what is UP?

I am referring to the appalling slip - using "of" instead of "have!' For example, could of, should of, instead of could have and should have. When it's contracted, it should be could've and should've.

Beware of secured credit card scams...

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on April 11, 2006 - 9:41am.

Hey folks,

Beware of those nice people or flyers inviting you to apply for a secured card with $5000 or more on it, in the opes youll eventually be approved for VISA or Mastercard.

First of all, they charge you for the so-called "package" which is really a substandard catalogue of items you can purchase with this card. It is not really a card you can use anywhere at all.

PLUS, they make you pay 50% of the bill right away, so how is that credit.?
