Isn't your mother in law supposed to hate you? Isn't she supposed to not want you around? To not talk to you? To not see you all the time? There enlies the freedom! So why do I have the mother in law who wants to have a "close" "tight" relationship? Mine wants me to be "just like another daughter to her." Maybe she meant like another daughter in law because her daughters don't spend too much time with her until they're dropping off grandkids (from her mouth to my ears.) However, her daughter in law calls her at least every other day if not every day. Guess what they talk about. The daughter in law's marriage to her son! I'm just thinking your other son and I have better things to do with our time than call you and talk to you about us.
