Poseidon

Last night I saw the movie "Poseidon" with a few friends. If you plan on going on a cruise anytime soon, DO NOT see this movie until you get back.

The movie was pretty good. There were great special effects and horrifying deaths. Although there were a few parts that I thought to myself,"yeah right, like these people just happen to be able to hold their breaths underwater for minutes at a time."

Product Review: Loreal Wear Infinite Holographic Eyeshadow

I purchased Loreal Wear Infinite Holographic eyeshadow in "royal sapphire" last summer at Walgreens for about $6.99.

It's hard for my to find eyeshadows that show up on my eyes, let alone last all day, but I was very pleased with this one.

The eyeshadow looks like a purplish blue shade. This is one of my favorite eyeshadows. If you have brown eyes like I do, it makes your eyes stand out a lot.

Product Review: Blinc Kiss Me Cream Mascara

I've been using Blinc Kiss Me Cream Mascara for over a year now and figured I'd add a review here.

I originally read about this mascara in a magazine. It is recommended especially for women with oily skin who tend to get "raccoon eyes" from other mascaras.

I've tried almost every mascara over the years, and I had given up until I discovered Blinc last year, because I couldn't find one that stayed on my lashes without running all over my face by the end of the day.

Product Review: Fiber Choice Chewable Fiber Tablets

Most Americans get very little fiber from their diets alone. This can lead to constipation, and a variety of other diseases. Fiber supplements come to the rescue, in all varieties, for the above reasons.

I decided to try Fiber Choice Chewable Fiber Supplements after viewing the commercial a few weeks ago. I purchased them at Target for about $5.99. I also had a coupon.

Fiber Choice supplements have 4 grams of fiber per serving, which is the most fiber per tablet compared to benefiber and metamucil, which only have 1 gram and a 1/2 gram, respectively.

Most Clicks Ever

Lately my blog hasn't been getting very many reads...except for my post titled "Imaginary Monsters and Such", which so far has had over 376 reads. That's the most reads and clicks I've ever gotten for an entry.

That entry was pretty short, but the title was catchy so it got a ton of hits. So I'm going to attempt to make my titles better. I want them to scream "read me now!" or something of a similar nature.

I'm watching Half-Baked on tv right now. Man, I love that movie. It's almost over though.

After work today, I went to the Satellite Cafe in Philly to one of my friend's art exhibition. It was fun. The quacamole was awesome.

This will be the last weekend that I am working at my current job. woot! Next friday is my last day.

Next Sunday is mother's day.
My mom has been into reading lately, so I'll probably get her a barnes & noble gift card.

Full Inbox

My inbox has been full of submissions for "Reflections on Love and Loss." This is great news. I've been really busy so the book has been on the backburner for a few months until now. Anyway, most of the emails are from talented writers who are grateful to be included. But then there are some others who want to know "what do I get in return?" or "will I get paid?"

I would love to be able to pay everyone whose submission is chosen, but until I find a publisher, I'm the one who is footing the bill, and I am already in debt (from college...) up to my ass.

Hell No

Last night at 3am I got a phone call. It was someone from where I work (for the next week and a half at least, until I start my new job) asking me to come in today. I said no.

I have the day off again. Today will be more productive than yesterday, even though I slept until 11am. I looked at the clock and expected it to say 6am, and I was shocked when it said 10am, I was still so tired.

I did some writing today already. I worked on my book, posted a review on amazon.com, and emailed 9 people. I did the dishes. I walked the dog. Now I will go for a long walk, with out my dog.

2 shirts and a bra

Today I'm in such a "blah" mood. Not a bad mood per se, just sort of in between good and bad, but leaning towards bad. It was my day off, so I dropped off the paperwork to my new job. Then I spent about 4 hours shopping. What a waste of time.

Shopping pisses me off because hardly anything ever fits me. The tops are always too short and too wide. Or the pants are too long and too weird. I went to a lot of different stores. And I only ended up buying 3 things: 2 shirts and a bra.

swag

I have to buy some new clothes as soon as possible. In the winter I didn't have to worry. I could just throw on a sweater and a nice pair of pants and walk out the door. Now that spring is here, things are not so easy. I have about 2 nice blouses and 2 pairs of nice pants that I can wear at my new job. That is just not going to cut it.

And it is hard to find shoes this time of year. Every pair in the 6 stores I went to is open-toed or pointy-toed. I just want a nice pair of comfy, professional-looking shoes. I don't think that is asking too much.

My interview went very well today. They said they want to pursue employment with me, and they will make me an official offer after my background test is complete and my references check out. woot! :)

So I gave 2 weeks notice at my other job today. They were very understanding. I just have to get a reference form filled out by the board of education where I used to substitute teach. I will do that on monday before work.

Do You Have Firm Buns?

I got up early every day this week. Right now I am not that tired though. It's almost 11:30pm, so it is not too late, but I should be off the computer right now.

I need to be well rested for tomorrow. And if the sun is out, one of my friends is supposed to come over for a photo shoot (of my dog) in the morning, before my interview.

I worked out a few days ago. The front of my thighs still hurt. They feel like rocks. I'm normally always sore in some way or other though. Neck, back, and shoulders from a dance injury that I stopped treating as soon as I went off my parents' health insurance, wrists from being on a computer at work all day, and then coming home and typing for atleast another hour...I feel old sometimes. I need a massage or something. Bubble baths are lovely, but they are overrated.

Last night on Southpark, Al Gore made up this monster called manbearpig. It was a really funny episode.

I'm in the middle of doing laundry right now. I need more clothes.

Tomorrow is my interview. I just discovered my printer is out of ink. I won't be bringing an updated resume apparently.

I've been busy reviewing books for amazon.com lately.

Longest Day Ever

Every day at work seems longer than the last. Yesterday felt like the longest work day of my life. Today was even longer. I can't wait until Friday, my interview.

With a new job, I will be able to afford to get out of debt much sooner. I'm also saving for a better car (yellow VW beetle) and I hope to move out on my own soon after that.

My other goal is to write more often. Blogging doesn't count. I was in a funk before. Not writer's block per se, I just wasn't in the mood to write. Now I have the motivation back.

I had the whole weekend off! I got some writing done (4 articles for associatedcontent.com). I watched some movies with friends (Fun with Dick and Jane, which was an awesome movie...and the newest Harry Potter movie, which I got bored with). Lastnight I watched Sopranos with one of my other friends. It was a good episode.

This Friday I have an interview with a Counseling center. If I get the position, it will be my first job in psychology. woot! :) I'm also looking forward to having the same schedule each week...this rotating schedule gets confusing.
