Everyone Needs a Creative Outlet. What's Yours?
Submitted by pangeacat on July 25, 2008 - 5:18pmI enjoy writing, often, which is probably why I'm here on BloggerParty. But, I have other things that I enjoy doing as well, to express myself.
I'm not very good at drawing, honestly I could mess up stick people! But, I do enjoy painting. It's obviously more on the abstract side, but it's still painting. I've messed about with oil pastels, dry pastels, even blending marker with colored pencil.

Caring For Orphaned Kittens
Submitted by pangeacat on July 25, 2008 - 5:11pmMy house is, affectionately, referred to as "The Temple of Bast" by my friends, and for good reason. Every cat in the neighborhood hangs out at my house. I feel like I've reached "crazy cat lady" status far too early!

Actor Patrick Swayze Recovering Nicely From 'Terminal' Cancer.
Submitted by pangeacat on July 22, 2008 - 1:42pmIn April, actor Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. At that time, he, supposedly, was given just a few months to live. However, the actor has reportedly been responding well to treatments (most of which are homeopathic in nature), and now looks as though he is doing quite well.

Holy Giant Stingray Batman! Pics.
Submitted by pangeacat on July 20, 2008 - 4:50pmA biologist, working with the National Geographic apparently, discovered a 44 pound freshwater stingray in the Mekong river. He's heard reports of 1,100 pound rays found in that river though, and that's what he's really looking for.

Does John McCain Honestly Need His Social Security Check?
Submitted by pangeacat on July 19, 2008 - 6:00pmI just read that John McCain is cashing his social security checks, after complaining about the situation with social security benefits being depleted, and definitely not needing an extra monetary boost to make it through the month!

Just What the Heck is 'Mesothelioma' Anyway?
Submitted by pangeacat on July 16, 2008 - 10:16pmI couldn't sleep, again, last night, so I started flicking through channels. As I did, I found myself bombarded with commercials, yet again, for mesothelioma attorneys.
This sparked my curiosity. I understood that it had something to do with asbestos exposure, that much I got from the commercials, and that it was common enough to warrant the spending of a good deal of money for lawyers to advertise their desire to find clients for this one particular issue, but I know nothing else about it. I decided to research.

I've Burned My Breasts
Submitted by pangeacat on July 15, 2008 - 9:11amVery early this morning, around 1 a.m., I decided that I must cook pasta. I don't really know why, but I had the urge. So, I pulled out the ingredients and began boiling water. It was early (or late, depending on how you look at it) so I didn't feel the need to go run and get fully dressed in order to make my food.

On Being the Crazy Cat Lady
Submitted by pangeacat on July 15, 2008 - 12:58amI'm only 26 years old (at least, I think that's right. I tend to forget my own birthday sometimes), and I'm already the crazy cat lady of the neighborhood. It's really kind of sad.
A couple years ago, I went to a movie with a friend of mine. During the previews, they had one of those TLC "life lessons" commercials. There was a woman walking around her apartment, seemingly asking a partner what they'd like to watch that night. As she rounded the corner, you saw that she was actually talking to a group of cats lying on her bed. The narrator came on and said, "Dating is awkward. But, so is being the crazy cat lady." At least, it was something to that effect.

Out of the Mouths of Babes ~ The Meaning of Life
Submitted by pangeacat on July 13, 2008 - 2:36pmBefore I became a full-time mommy, I worked in a private daycare center. I handled all age groups, ranging from 8 weeks to 8 years of age.
One day, one particular 8 year old was really grating on my last nerve. She just wouldn't behave, and it was making life stressful for not only the teachers and T.A.'s, but also the younger children.

Does Dr. House Speak To Our Dark Side?
Submitted by pangeacat on July 13, 2008 - 12:12amI was watching the TV show, House, today, and it got me thinking. What is it about this show that draws us in? It's a very popular show, so there has to be something about it that keeps the audience coming back for more.

How Do We Define 'Success'?
Submitted by pangeacat on July 12, 2008 - 11:44pmEvery where I look, I see success defined by wealth. If a person is a millionaire, or has a booming career, we call them successful, often without knowing anything else about them. Is money all it takes to be considered successful today?

Fun and Useless 1980's Movie Trivia/Quiz
Submitted by pangeacat on July 11, 2008 - 5:26pmOriginally, I posted this on my 80's stuff blog. I came up with the questions at about 2 o'clock in the morning, I couldn't sleep. I think it's fun little tid bits of trivia, so I thought I'd share.

Immediate Family of JonBenet Ramsey Cleared of Her Murder.
Submitted by pangeacat on July 9, 2008 - 1:16pmI was poking around FoxNews.com, and I noticed an article regarding new DNA evidence that has been discovered in the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation.
Most of us are familiar with the case of the 6 year old girl who was murdered in her home, the day after Christmas, in 1996. And many of us thought that one of her parents, or even her brother, was the perpetrator of the heinous crime. The police were convinced of it, and the media let us know where they were focusing their investigation.

Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery.
Submitted by pangeacat on July 9, 2008 - 10:30amI took a sleeping pill last night (which is actually only half a dose), because my insomnia was preventing me from getting to bed. You know how they have that "do not operate any heavy machinery" warning on there? Forget heavy machinery, I'm having trouble operating my arms!
