Making the Most of Your Life
With obesity becoming an epidemic in this country, I foresee the number of lap band surgeries increasing every year. Lap band surgery is relatively simple. There are some surgery centers that do not even require a hospital stay.

The Medifast Weight Loss Program is one the hottest weight loss products on the market today. Here is a quick overview of how the Medifast weight loss program works. If you are trying to lose weight quickly, the Medifast diet is for you because you will lose 2-5 pounds a week by following this diet.
The Medifast weight loss program is low-carb, low calorie food plan that uses meal replacement products as meals and snacks. Debt consolidation can be one of two things; a loan that is used to consolidate all your debts or a restructuring of all your unsecured debt through a debt counseling agency. A debt consolidation loan requires you to own a home and the debt consolidation loan will be secured with your home.
The major conveniences of a debt consolidation loan are one monthly payment instead of several, paying out less per month (you may pay for a longer period of time though), a lower interest rate then most credit cards and the interest is tax deductible.

Retirement? This something I think about quite often. With less that 20 years left until that time comes, I wonder if I have done enough to prepare for that time.
Here are a few things you should to take into consideration when planning for retirement, especially if you are women:
• Consider your lifespan-women are expected to live until the age of 85. This is 3 years longer than male partners.

Some people are overweight because of circumstances beyond their control. They may have medical conditions or take medications that cause them to gain weight. But the biggest majority of overweight people (more than 95%) gain that weigh because of what they put in their mouth.
Because of the enormity of this problem, in today’s society, there are many weight loss organizations that can help you manage your weight. I feel one of the biggest parts of learning to manage your weight is figuring out why you overate in the first place. If you don’t figure out how you got where you are it will be hard not to end up there again.

Debt counseling is a type of debt consolidation, but it is not a loan. Debt counseling is a good debt solution if you are making only minimum payments, but you are current on your payments or slightly past due. Debt counseling organizations are sometimes referred to as consumer credit counseling services. These debt relief groups are usually non profit and will work to help you obtain financial freedom. Do not be confused. Just because a debt counseling service is non profit does not necessarily mean it is free. Be sure to get all the facts.

I belong to this fellowship that believes that is the only way to live your life—One Day at a Time. I try to remember this in everything that I do and it is not always easy. Living in a country where instant gratification is so easy to come by, it is hard to remember that most things worth having are worth waiting for.
When it comes to dealing with adversity in our lives this is a good policy to follow. In most cases, we did not get there overnight and we will resolve anything overnight, but if we take things one day at a time and deal with things as they arise instead of putting them off. We will be able to rise above the conflict in our life.

How much have you thought about retirement? If you are like a lot of American’s, it is not foremost in your mind, but it should be important to you. Here are a few things that you can do to help you know where you stand:
• Prepare an overview of your expenses-calculate everything that you pay out from your groceries to your utilities. Find out what it currently costs you to live.
• Look into your future-some of your costs may increase, but you will have other costs that will decrease in the future. Try to be specific about what it will cost you to live. Don’t forget to factor in inflation.

If you are fortunate enough to be in the position where you have all of your unsecured debts paid, you may want to consider paying your mortgage ahead or as the financial industry refers to it, prepaying your mortgage.
The benefits to prepaying your mortgage are:
• You will retain more of your money. The average mortgage will cost you two to three times the initial loan amount just in interest. That is money that will stay with you if you prepay instead of going to your lender.

I do a lot of reading and research on weight loss. Today I read an article that said that lower class people have more issues with obeing overweight. I think that I tend to agree with that statement to a certain extent. I think about the city that I reside in. The older parts of town; where there is less money, seems to have more obese people than the wealthier parts of town.
I wonder why this appears to be the case. Is it because they are not as well educated and don’t know how to eat sensibly or is that the wealthier people spend more money on gym memberships and less on fast food. The answer to the question is going to differ depending on who you ask.

The first step in becoming debt free is to take responsibility for your debt. However, owing money does not mean you should have to sacrifice your pride or self-esteem. You must have a strong desire to be free of debt and must be able to visualize yourself with manageable debt. Remember, your finances did not become unmanageable in one day. In some cases, it probably took years. You are going to get out of debt the same way--One dollar and one day at a time.

Student loans are available for the student that needs them in order to get a degree, but there are some ways you can limit the amount of money you will need to borrow for a college education.
Apply to several different types of schools. Just because you start out at a certain school does not mean you have to graduate from that school. See what type of financial aid each school is willing to offer you to get you as a student. You may find a smaller private school that is willing to offer more financial aid to have you as a student.

The Federal Work-Study Program is part funded by the federal government financial aid program. The work-study program is program that provides jobs for college students to provide them with an income to pay for college related expenses.
This program places you in jobs they may be related to your field and many of the jobs are the type of jobs that allow you to study while you are at work. Most work-study jobs are on campus, but some of the employers may be off campus and they may be public agencies or nonprofit organizations.
