Our military is dwindling because no one wants to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. The soldiers we have been able to hold on to don't want to re-enlist because they have served multiple tours in both countries and not only are their families falling apart, but so is the American economy.

I was under the impression that mixing church and state was illegal in this country, and if not illegal certainly against the rules of the tax man. Recently, I have seen more and more churches involving themselves in politics by trying to sway their congregation into voting for McCain and against Obama. How do these churches qualify for tax exempt status with the IRS if they are indeed spouting political messages from the pulpit?

While President Bush touts and woos the Christian coalition, his actions are far from Christian. He has stated that he will veto the Children's Health Insurance Bill. He says it will take away funding for poor children. At issue is the state-federal program that subsidizes health coverage for low-income people, mostly children, in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private coverage. It expires Sept. 30.
