My Beautiful Body...Every Dimple, Stretchmark, Sag & Crease of it!
Why are we as women so hard on ourselves?
You know, I can ask the same question over and over and can never come up with the same answer. However, I DO know we are hard on ourselves and I DO know that we do not need to be.
We see it every day in the media and the cover stories of Hollywood fame and beauty. In our eyes it appears that ever female celebrety either has that perfect smile, the perfect hair, or the perfect figure. They do not seem to flaunt stretch marks, wrinkles, sagginess and dimples. Sure, we know many of the pictures are airbrushed, but if only we could walk around photoshopped to the hills, appearing beautiful to all around us. We are way to hard on ourselves. Vanity is our culprit on many days. True, some days we simply don't care...and some days we actually do feel pretty, or at least acceptable.
My Child The Teacher
I am humbled often by my sweet children it is overwhelming. One day particular, my son humbled me in an amazing way.
I took my son, then 2 on the bus with me. He loved the bus at that age. And being the unspoken little man that he is, he would happily greet the passengers as they entered and passed us.
On man in particulr entered the bus that day. He was a large man, one who definately needed to change his clothes. An older man with the distict scent of alchohol and old tobacco on his breath. He walked onto the bus and staggered his way to a seat...right beside me.
Wonderful Mother/Child Quotes
A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on.

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

Hug A Child Today
As a mother, it amazes me how someone can conceive a child, have it grow inside them for 9 months, feel it squirm, kick and wiggle, birth that child, be there for it's first breath and cry, meet it's first loving stare, recieve it's first smile...cuddle, swaddle and kiss it's tiny cheeks....then turn around and abandon, abuse or neglect that tiny, dependant and trusting child.
What Would Mothers Like To Read About?
I am placing this entry out there for a few days to get some feedback on what you, as mothers of all ages, would like to read about.
Because I Love You
I received a valentine this past February 14th. It was from my 5 year old son. It was a cut out heart, colored pink, and in his best attenpt it said "I Love You Mommy'. When he handed it to me he was so proud, and I was so touched. It is currently hanging on my fridge, and every time I wealk by it, I can't help to feel all the love that went into that valentine.
Playdough That Tickles Your Senses and Toast you can PAINT!
KOOL-AID Playdough
You all know the ol' Salt, Flour, Water, oil, Food Coloring and Cream of Tartar combo to making Playdough.
Why not simplify the recipe with fewer ingredients while making a playdoug both you and your children will like to have around the house. Easy and smells great too.
Footsteps In The Hall
I awoke this morning to the chaos of a bustling house. My newborn whimpering beside me, and my other three children playing in their elder brothers room. All under the age of 6, laughing, shouting, screaming and sometimes crying. At 7:00 in the morning on my only day of the week to sleep in, I find myself shouting 'Stay in your rooms!', "close the Door!' all in attempt to get a few more winks in before waking fully for the day.
