Toddler Murderer in Tulsa Granted Arrainment

I recently blogged about a toddler here in Tulsa, Johnathan Minton. He was killed by his daycare provider. She taped over his nose and mouth as a form of discipline. He was in cardiac arrest when DHS workers arrived to do an unannounced visit since Chiles was under investigation for other charges of Abuse of a Minor.

Toddler Killed in Tulsa

Most people in Tulsa probably know, but others may not, about an appalling crime that happened just days ago.

Vicki Chiles, who ran a daycare out of her home, had been charged recently with Abuse of a Minor, but allowed to keep operating her daycare and no parents were notified. Since recieving her license in 2002, DHS had made at least 3 unannounced visits per year, and many of these visits had yeilded serious violations, in addition to multiple complaints regarding Chiles and child abuse.

An Ethiest by Education

Well today I had quite a laugh.... but when I really think about I get sort of disturbed because... this is like, the biggest SCAM of all time. It is so simple it is just ridiculous.

There is now a new "MUSEUM" to advocate Christianity. Okay, fine.... even though "museums" are supposed to help preserve history, not stories. Whatever. Fine. But the FUNNY thing is that they built this $27 MILLION "museum" (wow, that's a lot of money; I'm sure that there was no better way to spend all that money for the good of humankind) largely to "prove" (I think that the better term would be to "ludicrously insist") that evolution is all a silly idea, that divine creation is the only truth-- and one of the MAIN issues is-- dinosaurs. The world of Science and Reason say that dinosaurs ENDED their several hundred million year reign tens of millions of years ago. BUT according to Christianity, that is simply not true. Yes, they have no explanation for the FACTS involved that make up REALITY but they still insist, arms crossed over chests and feet stamped firmly into the ground, that the Earth, humans, and dinosaurs were all brought into existence a mere 6000 years ago. What I cannot help think of are all the "Christian" friends I have who I consider to be very intelligent.... but... when it comes to this..... Which does everyone really believe? Science or faith? And is it all because they were raised that way? It certainly looks like it and I struggle with that. Do all these people REALLY believe that "God" planted phony evidence as a "test" or something and the Earth is REALLY only 6000 years old? Do people REALLY believe that the Earth is that new because a pastor or a preacher or a Reverend TELLS them so? THAT is the big selling point to the idea-- someone just telling masses of people that and since it seems morally tidy and easier than being independently ethical, people just GO WITH IT??? Because you cannot be a steadfast, faithful Christian if you don't beleive it ALL.... which to me is an awfully mean way of putting a lot of nice people who are just looking for answers into the postition of having only two options: be faithful or be reasonable. You cannot "in good faith" be both.....

Don't Beleive Your Husband!

Ladies: don't beleive your husbands!

I have discovered a very common lie that it seems many husbands are telling their wives, and I have fallen for it in the past! Don't be taken in, sisters! It's simply not true.

I Wish I Had Morning Sickness!

Some people wake up every morning and they take a while to get going. They have to sort of inch slowly into their day, and it is more likely that they will start off the morning in an irritable mood than in a cheerful mood. I have a sister, a husband, and many friends who do this-- however, I usually don't. I love the mornings and even if I know there is something negative to be faced in the day ahead, I always wake up feeling emotionally refreshed and hopeful, even if I am still physically tired after my usual 4-5 hours of sleep. All this could be avoided if only I could erase the presence of two little letters in my life that are more a part of me now than my initials: HG: hyperemesis gravidarum.

To Blog Or Not To Blog: That Is The Question

Am I crazy for starting a new blog-- or just too tired to know any better? Sometimes that very thin line is dangerously blurred! I hear the term "Desperate Housewives" and, while I can't help but revel in that show as a "guilty" pleasure, like idle gossip or an extra glass of wine, I look nothing like those "housewives" who are supposedly desperate. I often have my hair thrown up into a ponytail, but that ponytail isn't a shiny, bouncy creation that took an hour to perfect and sometimes I end up in pajamas for the majority of the day. I don't usually have the presence of mind to remember to cuff the sleeves of my husband's work shirts when I wear them, and once I was SO tired with my first child that when I felt him finally drift up and spit up on me at the same I was too tired to care!
