Maybe I just shouldn't bet on college games. Every weekend something sort of eery happens and causes me to miss out on a boatload of cash. It was about 700 dollars earlier today. I need a strong showing on Sunday. I bet for money not for fun. I have a goal in mind and if I am going to meet it, I can't have slip ups. I have thoroughly broken down all of the games. Here's the deal:
INDY(-18.5) over tennessee-this is a ton of points anywhere, but especially in the the NFL. I would say it's equivalent to 30 point spread in college. Enough of that. The Colts beat the Titans 35-3 and 31-10 last year. That was with Steve McNair. The Colts may beat Tennessee worse than the Cowboys did last week.

I guess today's blog can best be described as better late than never. I am going to give you all a few college picks. I have been very well as of late, but I definitely do not want to jinx myself. Here's the deal:
oklahoma(+4) over TEXAS-Vince Young is the reason that Texas was so good last year, not Mack Brown.
michigan state(+15) over MICHIGAN-Michigan has been my favorite college team since Desmond Howard struck the heisman pose, but I just do not see a blow out here. That lets you know how real it is. I am willing to bet against my team if the opportunity to make some money is there.

Hey yall. I just felt the agony of defeat. I bet on Rutgers(-4) at South Florida. I took Rutgers because their running game is pretty unstoppable. And they have a pretty good defense. Not to mention South Florida's leading rusher and passer is a 190 pound freshman quarterback. Surely coach Greg Schianno can devise a scheme to stop one player.
Fast forward to the fourth quarter. Rutgers is leading by 8 with 4 or so minutes to go. They attempt a 42 yard field goal on fourth down with an 8 point lead. I thought they should have punted and made the Bulls drive 90 yards to tie it. One thing I should mention is that on third they Scarlet Knights were screwded by a defensive holding non call. SF linebacker Steve Nicholson tackled a Rutger running back on a screen pass before the ball arrived.

This is the second week in a row that I was not able to give any college picks. It's very difficult because of the research involved when picking college games. By the time Friday rolls around all I want to do is sleep when I get home from work. I passed out around 8:30 on Friday night. Pretty Lame, I know. But, during the week, I wake up around 5-5:30am and don't get home until 5:30-6pm. It's a grueling schedule. Hopefully one day soon it will be worth it.

I apologize for not giving you the college picks earlier today. Due to some incompetence on the part of my banking institution I do not have the funds available to make any bets. As a result I considered not giving pro picks either. But I could not let you all down. I have to admit that there is not very much research going into these picks because there is no money on the line. However I need less research to pick pro games so I am going to go for it. What makes it even tougher is the lines are pretty big. There are a lot of 10 plus point lines especially this early in the season. By the way I am going to try to refrain from making picks on games that invlove the Cowboys since they are my favorite team. I hope everybody had a nice weekend. Here's the deal:

Good Evening. It is the eve of one of my favorite days of the year. Tommorrow marks the first Sunday of the 2006 NFL season. 1 or 2 of you may have been looking out for my college picks today, but due to some exstenuating(?) circumstances I was not able to even place bets myself. You should be thanking me actually. My instincts and my research was, shall we say, sub par. It's still early in the season so this is to be tolerated. Many of the teams that played well last week struggled today and vice versa. Hopefully I'll hit my stride next weekend. I have to be honest, it's not so easy to pick NFL games this early in the season either so proceed with caution. Having said that, I still intend to pick all winners. And I more than doubled my money Friday Night at the Casino playing poker so I'm feeling lucky. Here's the deal:

I wanted to redeem myself yesterday and I think I did. I didn't give any losing picks at least. We tied on the Mississippi(-3) game. Down 11 with half of the fourth quarter in the books, the Memphis Tigers mounted a touchdown scoring drive with minutes to go. They had to go for the 2 point conversion so as to cut the deficit to 3 points so that a fieldgoal could still tie the game and send it to overtime.

It was sort of a rough day yesterday although I did come out on top in the end. I want to redeem myself with a couple picks today. Stick with me. Here's the deal:
This is actually a pick from yesterday, but the game is not until today. OLE MISS(-3) over memphis; Last year, the Rebels defeated the Tigers on the road in the first game of the season. Memphis had the nation's leading rusher. They don't have that luxury. Memphis was but just 1 of only 3 victories for Mississppi, but I think they pull this one off.

Hey Everyone. To my pleasant surprise the college football season actually kicked off last night. I mentioned that football is my specialty. I actually think I am better at picking pro games, especially this early in the season. There is so much turnover in the college game that it is sometimes hard to decipher what's what at this stage. My strategy is not to pick too many games and to stick to teams that are returning a lot of players from last season. Here's the deal:

Hello everyone. I am well rested after my 3 month hiatus. As you know, or should know, the college football season kicks off this weekend. Football is my favorite sport and happens to be my specialty as far as sports betting is concerned. I don't have any picks for you today, but they are coming tommorrow. And Saturday morning at the latest. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Get your pocketbooks ready.

The NBA Champion was crowned last night. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to write about it today. Where there’s a will, there isn’t always a way nowadays. Anyways, as anyone who reads my blog knows, I picked Dallas to win. I was wrong. I admit it. But what have we learned here. Numero uno: Pat Riley is a great coach. Now I knew he was a very good coach, but he did most of his damage with the showtime Lakers of the 80’s. I was still a twinkle in my father’s eye back then. He had some good years with the Knicks and in his first stint as the Heat coach, but he didn’t win anything. When you don’t win, it tends not to matter how good you really are. Today, Dwayne Wade is everyone’s vote getter for best player in the league. A month ago he was just very good.

Although hockey’s post season is arguably the greatest and most exciting, I have not watched much. But last night was different. Last night was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. In realty, you have to watch the game that decides it all in any sport, especially a game 7. Due to living on the west coast, my lengthy commute from work, and an errand or two, when I walked in the house the second period was coming to a close. The Carolina Hurricanes were leading 2 goals to none.

So I have taken another week off from posting an entry. I decided that since we are in the thick of the NHL and NBA finals, the U.S. Open, and the World Cup, it is only right that I give you guys something.
My my, how things have changed. A few days ago it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the NBA and NHL champions would be crowned. Since falling down 2 games to none, the Edmonton Oilers have reeled off 2 out of 3, keeping their championship aspirations alive. This includes a game 5 overtime victory, the winning goal scored by Fernando Pisani. He was quoted as saying it’s probably the biggest goal he had ever scored. Gee, ya think?

Good Morning. It’s still pretty early out here in the West. I am watching England versus Paraguay. I recorded the game so I am a little behind. I am just about through to the second half so nobody ruin it for me.
Anyway, I didn’t have a chance to write on Friday because I was so worn out from drinking on Wednesday night that all I could do was sleep when I got home Thursday. If I don’t at least get my ideas in writing the night before I will not be able to write the day of because of work. I have to go back to something that happened on Wednesday at the bar. I saw two women kiss. Not just any two women. I would describe one as sexy. And the other somewhere between very pretty and cute with a nice body. Actually, they both had nice bodies. Different, but equally nice.

The NBA playoffs are set to start tonight. I picked the Mavericks to make it this far. However not many, me included, can say they saw this coming from the Heat. During the regular season they were 1-11 versus the top 3 or 4 teams in the association. The only win was a huge come from behind victory at home versus the Pistons. I believe the final score was 93-92. I remember this so vividly because I bet this game on my final day in Vegas before I moved to San Diego. We left before the game was over because you can mail in your betting slip. I listened to the game on the radio. I took the Pistons as one point favorites. It was heart wrenching. I think Detroit was up 20 or so points at one point in that one.
