Starting your own blog

Removed because why should I put any effort into your blog. If you are so convinced this site is going to hell in a handbasket, you know where the exit is.

Spectacular Spiral

Thanksgiving wasn't a great one this year. I suppose the holiday went fine, but the events before and after made it so unbearable that it tainted the holiday itself.

Today.com really pays!

I just got paid by Today.com. I know a lot of people were wondering if they would actually payout. Well, they have.

If you're looking to make some extra money, this is a pretty easy way. You can have one VIP blog, it should be of a certain niche (meaning, write all your posts about one subject, not just a general blog), and each entry should be 100 words long. In order to get paid sooner, you should write once a day. They payout at $50, plus, you get paid a certain amount for your traffic. It's easy, and doesn't take long.

Trying to Avoid Jail Time

Well, I sent in my first application for an art show. And I promptly got it back, asking that I remove my photo from the booth shot. lol I suppose that's something a pro would know, but being a newbie, I didn't. The thing that makes it so difficult is that I don't have my own tent, and I live in an apartment. So I've got to borrow a tent, haul it over to a park, school, or a medical center, and set it up on the lawn. Complete with Christmas tree, curio cabinet, table and chair, etc. I can foresee the police being called, and I'm just not sure how in the world I'll explain myself out of that one. The truth just sounds so weird.

Turn for the Weird

Holy crap! This just took a turn for the weird. McCain has suspended his campaign temporarily.

My gut says it's at least 99% for political gain (for numerous reasons).

My position

This has been in my mind the last few weeks. And I'll be damned if I have figured out how to say it yet.

I'm sitting here watching a documentary on Ralph Nader. Did you know that people sent him driveshafts from their cars, and lawnmowers in a box, because they were convinced that he could help them. Ponder that for a minute. Picture the person in your mind. Maybe it's your next door neighbor. A woman, mid-40's, brown hair, green eyes, lower middle class... She manages to perform pretty much any regular tax. And yet, she's decided that Ralph Nader is her savior. He's going to fix the stuff that nobody else can. Ralph Nader was this woman's superhero.

Am I really in need of another career?

I've taken to telling everyone that I'm a professional dilettante. I mean, I'm just really crappy at picking just one career. I am a real estate investor, landlord, writer, artist's assistant, and now- artist. I've called myself an artist before, but it never really felt real until now. I mean, I can't draw, even my stick figures suck, and I can't stay in the lines, so even being a colorist is out. So, it's one of those things that I just kind of ruled out as a career a long time ago.

A philosophy question- part 2

So, we've discussed good and evil. New topic:

Is there really such a thing as free will? Or are all your actions a result of everything that's happened to you throughout your lifetime? And no matter which way you believe, does the thought of not having free will bother you?

A philosophy question

I recently read an interview between Maynard James Keenan and a philosophy professor at some University or another. It was horrible as far as interviews go, but I supposed I can forgive him since he's in the philosophy department, rather than the journalism school.

My feelings on the economy

This post is somewhat in response to Sassy's post about the economy, but I'm going to go off on a tangent here, so I thought it would be best to do my own post. Cheers to Sassys for inspiring the thought.

Need Some Volunteers

I need some help testing a site. I'm looking for about five people to start with. PM me if you're interested.

I want you guys to check for errors, but also to give me feedback on it. Tell me what you like and what you hate. That includes colors, fonts, features, etc. I think I'm going to simply give you the address and let you figure it out, because if it's not user friendly, I need to know that as well.

Republicans Vote Against Mothers.

Proving once again that they have no soul, Republicans have voted against mothers. Or, more specifically, against Mother's Day.

On Thursday, there was a vote to recognize and honor mothers. They originally voted 412-0 in favor of House Resolution 1113. But then, Rep. Todd Tiahrt asked for them to "reconsider" the vote. Rep. Kathy Castor moved to table the request. This led to a revote, at which time, 178 Republicans voted "nay".

My Life as a Blogger (AKA- That was a dumb idea)

I was read a post at Shoemoney that talked about the ten worst mistakes he ever made. He thought it was important to list your failures, as well as your successes. I'm all for the concept, so here's my list as well. It won't necessarily be limited to ten.
