homeschooling small children

it's a somewhat daunting task. when you have a five year old and two two-year olds, it can be pretty difficult. a few things are required: patience, understanding, crazy-awesome organizational skills or even mediocre ones, and creativity. my personal motto when it comes to caring for multiple kids is: distraction. lol.

how do you define these words? how do you answer these questions?

hexxorba's picture

how do you define words like barbarism and terrorism? how about genocide?

how about the sickening things that are happening in this country? can you think of any?

how do you think other people in other countries view our country at this point in time?

......

it's a disgusting world, true; but i am doing my part to not focus on the negative and concentrate on the postitive. as well as do my part to make the world a more positive place.

How to clear the clutter - clear your home and free your mind!

hexxorba's picture

Do you feel so attached to material objects that you just can't bring yourself to get rid of them? Is your house becoming so full of stuff that you haven't seen the floor/shelf/closet/storage space in months or even years? Here are a few simple things to do to de-clutter and be happier for it.

the first blog; will it be profound?

hexxorba's picture

so, this is my first post on bloggerparty. i have a livejournal, but want to expand a bit. so here i am.

as a bit of an introduction, i am:

22, female, and engaged to be married in june.
a mother of two boys, aged 5.5 and 2.5; also (soon-to-be) step-mother of another 2.5 year old.
a geek/dork/nerd.
a hippie.
constantly improving and changing myself.

i homeschool my kids; leaning more toward unschool than anything structured (what else can you do with a 2 year old? lol). we have, over the past few months, drastically simplified/contracted our lives. we no longer own movies, a tv, a microwave, or video games/consoles. i used to be such a pack-rat. my mother is a pack-rat, and my grandmother was a packrat. but, i've finally been broken of the habit. it's so liberating to let go of all the crap i've had tucked away in various boxes and baskets for years. (some since 1996! i was in 6th grade, lmao) we have a very small house(trailer/mobile home), so it was packed full of junk. of course, we used all those appliances and visual-input devices regularly, but we didn't NEED to.
