The doctrine of pre-emptive strike is a little contradictory, because it is always justified depending on who executes it first. A pre-emptive strike from the United States to a country considered as enemy could avoid many future deaths, but seen from the other part, to attack the United States preventively could be also advisable. However, it is clear that a preventive attack to the United States from another country would cause a long war. Therefore, the pre-emptive strike is apparently effective if it is the strongest who executes it and I don't find this very ethical.

How much petroleum remains in the world?

This means that to the current rhythm of world consumption these reservations would be drained by the year 2043, but it could be earlier if the energy consumption increase, as is expected to happens on the developing countries. However, these forecasts don't include the discovery of new wells or the possibility of extracting petroleum on areas that nowadays are considered as natural reservations and therefore, non exploitable.
How many stars are in the universe?

And the figure to which they arrived is astronomical!
There are 70 sextillions of stars. In other words: the number seven followed by 22 zeros.
This means that the number of stars in the visible universe is much bigger that the quantity of grains of sand in the whole planet Earth. And this is just taking into account the actual reach of modern telescopes. Doctor Simon Drive from the Australian National University pointed out that the real number can be even bigger.
