I recently received an email picture from my daughter of my grandson, he's my boy's new child.I had to reflect on how I was seeing my grandson for the first time, through an email with an image taken by a cell phone.I remember when my son was born.I called everyone from a landline Ma Bell phone.

Money is a means to better the world.I mused on a hot summer day, whether the billions Bill Gates' charity has to spend on the worlds needy and now Warren's, will actually make a difference? I pondered what would I do to change the world for the better if I had such funds? I bounced some of my world solutions off my brother while we waited on Sunday dinner.
I decided that the best use of the billions would be to build infrastructure in the neediest thirld world countries.

I recently viewed "Silent Hill" at the movies and it is one
in a line of recent films to visually assault the viewer with
unsettling images that overwhelm the story.
There isn't a lot to the story."Saw" had a story line to match the gore. This one just shows the scriptwriters'distaste
for fundementalist Christianity.
The saving grace is the visual beauty of the horrific imagery
which I believe is the point of the whole exercise.

Last night I sat down to read the most recent issue of Newsweek,
As I thumbed through the pages, something caught my eye.I flipped back through the pages. There it was a full page ad that resembled the inside page of a library book, where the return card stuck out of the pocket glued to the page. What is this?
I pull out the fake return card and on the opposite side was a
promotion for the new Buick Lucerne sedan. If you are a fan of creative advertising it was a pleasant surprise to finally see

Where I live, the oft quoted description of the city is,"It's a great place to raise kids."; with that in mind I have to say the minivan has become the curse of the open road here.
Everyone seems to drive one.
From the suburbs to the ghetto. You see gleaming ones to hooptie minivans clogging the roads.
It's okay, but the problem is the menacing way they 're driven. The drivers can't seem to get that they aren't a SUV or a sports car.

showed the scope of African American and of other artists of merit and ability. It seems the "City" determines the cultural success of an artist, black or otherwise, based not

My family and I have had to endure adversity recently. I find that the causes are just everyday problems of life. Relatives dying, bills overdue and the like.My Mom has cancer but with treatment she should be okay.I was talking to my brother, after he brought my mom from her doctor appointment and we were having lunch, about fate.We were watching ESPN. They were showing old superbowl stories. We were lamenting the Bengals loss to Pittsburgh

I have a lady friend and we spend a lot of time together.
Thursday is our date night. We watch videos or go out to dinner or clubbing.Last nite we went clubbing. We had enjoyed the evening playing cards and reviewing the days events.Listen to this: she calls me at my office and says pick her up at her girlfriends house.Cool.She callsback and her friend is on the phone asking if I will bring them a sixpack and some cigs. They'll reimburse me when I get there.Knowing how unreliable her friends are I decide I'll get the money upfront when I pick her up.I really wasn't in the mood to go to the store. But i took her friend to the store to make their purchase.Cool.

We live in a world saturated with images.Every country on the planet has a culture and history of visual art.Art in politics and religion has it's rules and conventions.
When one country flouts the visual conventions of another culture, it seems violence can result.

The Modern Museum of Art in New York has a new exhibit of the
animation work of Pixar Studios.Being old school, I like the old animation of "cartoons" from the 60's,50's and 40's.I think I like them better because as an artist,I like to work from light to dark when I paint.Just a habit but with that in mind, all
