Participating in Intrinsic Evil

Why don't I trust religion? Maybe this news story gives me a reason.

Suicide Isn't Relevant?

Okay, someone explain this one to me. The judge in the trial of the woman from St. Louis, the one who created the fake MySpace profile which resulted in the death of a young girl, has stated that, in his opinion, the suicide of this girl is irrelevant to the case against the woman, and therefore he's probably not going to allow it to be brought up at trial.

13-Year Old Girl Stoned To Death

While everything else was going on in America this past week, there's a terrible story that almost slipped through the cracks, and once again highlights backward religious zealot regimes that need to be cracked and crushed.

My Election Thoughts

The week before the election was the first time I actually got really mad. There was this video that someone alluded to on Twitter, and of course I had to go watch. It was a video of a Sarah Palin rally, and these people decided to interview some of the folks who'd gone to the rally. Some of the things these people were saying were outrageous, and most of it had to do with race. And at least half of those people indicated that they'd either gotten such information or feelings from their friends or from commercials.

The First Snowfall Of The Year

Well, actually, we had some snow last week, but it only lasted about 10 minutes, so I'm not counting it. So, yesterday was officially the first true snow of the season. None of it stuck to the ground because it rained all day until finally turning to snow, but still it was snow, and it snowed all night, and is snowing right now.

Memory Issues; You're Not Alone

Man, I've been feeling old lately. I remember when I never forgot a phone number I'd ever heard, or the name of any attractive woman I'd ever met.

These days, I forget why I stood up, why I wanted to go to another website or even which website I wanted to go to, where I just sat down something that I'd just picked up, and every once in awhile, even why I'm standing in front of the toilet, as my mind drifts to other things; I wonder if women forget when they're sitting on a toilet.

Nine Days

At this juncture, we're nine days from a historic election day, a day that's going to have a "first" happen, no matter which direction it goes.

Of course, Obama would be the first black president in the history of this country. Biden would be the second oldest to ever be a first term vice president, with Alben W. Barkley, VP under Truman, being the oldest at 71.

Blog Action Day

October 15th of this year is Blog Action Day. Basically, an organization started up a few years ago to pick a topic yearly that they want to draw attention to. Last year it was the environment. This year's topic is poverty.

The Biggest Danger To Minorites and Women In America Today

I'm assuming most people don't know the name Ward Connerly, but this is the most dangerous man in America today as it pertains to minorities and women, and most folks don't know it.

Basically, he's a guy who, back in the 70's, defended a kid who didn't make it into college because his grades weren't good enough to compete with other white kids and his place was taken by some minority kids who didn't have the same opportunities he did, but whose grades weren't up to his. Connerly went to court defending this kid and got his client into the school, then decided that affirmative action was the worst thing to happen to black people in this country and that it had to go.

121 More Perverts Off The Streets

Upwards of 121 people were arrested for child pornography all across Spain, as over 200 homes were raided and millions of computer files, including pictures and videos, were confiscated.

The operation was conducted in cooperation with federal police in Brazil, which uncovered a worldwide file-sharing network that was trading millions of files in 75 countries. The suspects include a worker in Spain's spy agency, the National Intelligence Center (known by its Spanish acronym CNI), and a national police officer. Four of the perverts were under 18; all were men.

Bambi Needs A New Pair

Okay, her name was actually Sophia, but Bambi seems so much more appropriate for this story.

And that story would be the arrest of an 18 year old male named Nikita, his 19 year old girlfriend mentioned above, and two other men in Colorado, who were hired to kill Nikita's mother so he could collect the insurance money to pay for his girlfriend's breast implants.

Man Gives Up Nine Kids!

Talk about your stupid laws and their stupid consequences.

Nevada passed a law, which they termed a "safe haven" law, which allows parents to abandon children as long as they leave them at a hospital. It was meant for newborns, so that you stop having these young girls that have these babies secretly leaving then in the woods or in dumpsters or other places.

These Women Are Dangerous!

Obviously, they must be, but they don't look it:

src="http://www.stereohyped.com/wp/docs/2008/09/gospeltoday.jpg"

This magazine has been pulled out of hundreds of Christian bookstores, mainly those run by the Southern Baptist Convention, because they don't believe in the concept of women pastors. Truthfully, I'd never even heard of Lifeway Christian Bookstores; I guess that's what I get for being a heathen. And I guess this is their way of censoring themselves; sigh.
