SEO! What is it?

Have you seen the references to SEO? Did you know what those letters stood for? Wow. I didn't. I have no real reason to do so though either as it turns out. SEO is short for search engine optimization. This is important if you have business which I don't. Though I suppose this blog is a business of sorts and I am also self employed as a life drawing model. Thankfully I get enough referals from happy artists that I have more work then I can actually do. Pretty darn good for a male model. Female life drawing models are in much more demand.

SunFlowers

Close to where I live someone feeds the birds along the side of the road. It is across from a large industrial site. Apparently, he was feeding them just outside the building and attracting a lot of pigeons. THe employess complained since what goes into a pigeon eventually comes out again, and in this case on the employee's cars. So he was forced to move his bird feeding gig a short distance from the plant.

Would you come along?

A very short time ago I wrote and entry for blogitive about some luxury condos in Hawaii. I have wanted to go to Hawaii for a very a long time now. Staying there in condo would be the ultimate thrill.

The condo sleeps eight and I am just one. So I would have room for guests. I wonder if we could come up with a good idea for a reality TV show. They pick up the expenses and we get a free trip to Hawaii. Need some sort of hook for the viewers though and it can't be eight people locked into the house. I would not want to be in Hawaii and unable to get outside. And that has been done already anyway.

The Commercial Story of Christmas

When the first dutch settlers came to america they brought along their tradition of St. Nicholas. The protestant revolution took a dim view of saints and the traditional christmas celebration involving the honouring of St. Nicholas was discouraged. So much so that the tradional was wiped out in England but not so entirely on the European continent. So when the Europeans immigrated to the Americas they brought these traditions with them. In particular it was the Dutch tradition that caught the fancy of the early settlers in New York.

Buddy on Demand

Now this sounds like a crazy idea. Women worried about driving alone can now get an instant companion. A flick of the switch and they'll be joined by a blow-up male passenger that inflates instantly beside them. He doesn't say much but then that is not so unusal. There are no complaints about your driving either. He makes no demand on the radio station and he looks good. At least from a distance. However, if you get lost he refuses to ask for directions.

A Good Idea Gone Wrong.

Suppose that was a site you could go to and find out about scams and read warning about companies who were dishonest in their dealings with their customers. Suppose anyone could contribute to this site and that it was subscribed to by a large number of readers. This site would also no hidden agenda so that what you went there to find out about could be trusted.

The RipoffReport.com was to be such a site. Unfortunately the site was set up in such a way that some people use it to attempt to extort money from legitimate companies. The anonymous postings allow for little accountability on the behalf of the poster.

Attorney Fee Disputes: Federal or State Level Concern?

Simmons Jannace & Stagg is a progressive legal firm issuing web releases informing the blog reading public about some of the legal cases they are involved with.

Take this example. After the September 11th,2001 incident a Victims Compensation Fund was created to help the victims of the attacks. Since the intent was to maximize compensation to the families, contingency fees for the lawyers representing these families were discouraged. This didn't stop some of them though and in one noteable case an attorney sought a $2,000,000 fee.

When You Can't Have the Real Thing

When you can't have the real thing, perhaps the best imitation will do. The sport of Airsoft paintball started in Japan during the early 1980s. It was illegal to own firearms in Japan but since there was significant interest in them, a company started producing spring-powered replicas of firearms that fired 6mm, plastic paintballs.

During the latter part of the 1980s the sport migrated to neighboring countries such as Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Paintballs started appearing in North America and Europe during the middle of the 1990's.
