How to Give Yourself A Pay Raise of $200-$1,000/Mo-Tomorrow!

How much income tax did you pay last year?

If you are like most people, you will say the amount of tax you paid on April 15. Others will say none; they got a refund!

It is amazing that so many people are unconscious of the fact that taxes are their biggest expense. In most households, it totals more than housing, clothing and food.

To figure out how much tax you really paid, look at your pay stub and multiply the total taxes taken out, federal, state, local and social security, then multiply by 12 or 52, depending on whether you are paid monthly or weekly. Add or subtract any additional payments you made on April 15 or deduct your refund from the annual total.

Are Traffic Exchanges Really Worth Your Time?

You have decided to use one of the many traffic exchanges to get traffic to your site and still no sales. A traffic exchange program simply is not the most effective way to get quality traffic to your website. It's not my intention to knock the traffic exchange business but to point out to new web entrants that there should be other areas of concentration.

The basis of a traffic exchange program is simple: your site is shown to someone else (another network member) each time you view another site or two other sites. Some exchanges work on a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio; that is, for every three sites you view they will show your site once on their network. All of this is free because you are participating in viewing other member's sites as part of the program. The criteria for getting page views of your own site is that you must stay on each site you view for a specified time, say 15-20 seconds in order to get your viewing credit. Each time you do this, you receive a credit. Remember, though, that you are viewing sites in a network and that those credits you are accumulating are being viewed by members just like you who are in just as much of a rush to get to the next site as you are.

How Do You Really Make Money With Adsense

The funny thing about making real money with Adsense is that it largely doesn't involve Adsense. The optimization strategies that the forums and hundreds of articles and blogs constantly repeat are not even half of the story of receiving a sizeable monthly cheque from Google.

The fundamental rule of Adsense is traffic. Without traffic, no Adsense clicks, regardless of how precisely you've picked your placements or how much time you've spent perfectly blending the ads into the structure of your content so that they now appear as additional links and not advertisements.

Creating Tableless Sites - Why and Some Basics

In a time of web developers who just like to say that 'Tables are Evil' and can't (or won't) explain why, this article will attempt to give you some solid reasons that people create tableless designs. Included are six major benefits of creating tableless sites, and how to sell your desire to alter your website to a resistant manager.

Optimizing Flash Files For The Search Engines

What is a Flash Movie?

A flash movie, or shock wave file (SWF), is the file format published when a Flash movie is exported. A SWF file can also be exported by several other Macromedia or Adobe Products. The SWF is usually an animation, dynamic menu, or highly interactive web-based application embedded into an HTML page. Flash files, when exported correctly for the best web-based optimization, are compressed, thus making their file size lightweight. The SWF format is ideal for presenting vector-based, interactive and animated graphics with sound and video for the web. Vector images are ideal because they will not "pixilize" if stretched or compressed. Flash files can also contain text which can be animated, static or dynamically populated from external sources, such an XML file or a database. Text embedded in a Flash file, for many years, could not be read by search engines. However, recent updates by Macromedia are making this a possibility.

Search Engine Friendly Content Management Systems

What is a Content Management System?

A Content Management System (CMS) is a third party software application which allows web site administrators to add, update or delete content, photos, and documents to their web site in "real time". Many web sites are modified using these web-based tools as they require little to no knowledge of HTML or web scripting languages. CMS programs make it easy for a webmaster or site owner who does not know HTML or have access to a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML Editor, such as Macromedia's Dreamweaver, to update their site.

The A to Z Guide to Getting Website Traffic

In September of 1999, Brett Tabke wrote "26 Steps to 15k a Day" in the Webmaster World forum. A lot has changed since then, and now is the time to consider a new 26-step plan that meets the current needs of webmasters in 2006. Some of the old ones still apply (writing new content everyday, for example), and some don't (submitting to the search engines is no longer necessary), and we're here to tell you which is which! As you probably already know, bringing in traffic is not easy - it takes hard work, determination and lots of elbow grease. So if you're ready, roll up your sleeves and follow these 26 simple steps, and within just one year you will generate enough traffic to keep you busy for a long, long time!

Google: Big Brother or Cash Cow?

When I first started my main website many years ago, little did I know the major role Google would play in its success. Keep in mind, Google has only been around the web since 1998. In the beginning, few realized the small search engine created by Stanford students Larry Page and Sergey Brin, would become a multi-billion dollar company controlling almost all areas of the web.

Google seems destined to dominate the web (aka Shades of Big Brother) for years to come... keeping a close eye on all our Internet activity with large databases tracking our every (abiet aggregate) move. Since privacy has become an antiqued and obsolete word in our ever increasing public world, this can be very disconcerting. And it is not just the web, Google is branching out in so many directions, it will play a major role in our daily lives off-line as well as online.

How Would You Create The Next Google Or Ebay?

Is the revolution over? Google took it to a higher level during the bust of 2000 by feeding on the pennies of millions. They were truly ahead of the curve.

So where is/are today's silent behemoths?

You know someone's lying in wait. I can smell the brainstorming. I have some ideas of my own. The question is, do I share? Do you share?

I want to be the next BIG THING on the internet! But alas, I'm not right now. Oh, I have my moments where I make money - http://easyincomeinfo.com -but I'm not innovating. I yearn to innovate. I loved the mid 90's. There were new gadgets & software every 10 minutes. So it seemed. There were 20 TV shows dedicated to the new "online, Internet Wave." Now, I'm lucky if I find one. What happened to http://CNET.com on TV?

How To Attract More Visitors To Your Website

There are numerous factors to consider when evaluating the potential commercial success (i.e. profitability) of a website. A few of these include content, quality of the content, items being marketed, appearance, etc. I could go on forever about the various website building blocks needed in order to be successful, but without traffic (visitors), no website is going to be profitable.

You may think that the site you have created is top-notch, but if the only ones visiting it are your family and friends then chances are very good that you're not going to make many sales (or whatever it is your site is designed to accomplish).
