Prayer is a very important issue that Christians talk about all the time. A Christian’s life revolves around prayer, if he or she is right with God. God answers one’s prayers when one listens to him. Pastors talked about giving back to God, and God giving back to you in one of his sermons.
It says in James 5:16 “The ferverant prayer of a righteous man avails much
In many cases, persistence in prayer blesses lives tremendously. Here is what some people say about what prayer means to them.

In college everyone wants to get to the pros. So, what do they do? They take steroids. The athletes are not caught because the socialist dictators at the NCAA don’t want to spend the money to test for them. The NCAA test for drugs, but they don’t test for steroids because it is too expensive. They spend 20 or 30 dollars on a cheap drug test to look for street drugs like pot, heroine and such. Many college athletes get away with it so they can get to the next level because they are never caught in college. I played with numerous guys in college who took them and ere never caught. Our catcher’s playing weight was over 210 pounds. Now that his career is over he barely weighs 160.

Some people sit there in total, utter disbelief. One’s world seems like it is crashing down. One’s life is over; at least he thinks it is over. It is all about how he approaches it.
The recently diagnosed listens to his doctor, and he takes treatment. He puts his hope in the doctor.
What is a true friend?
Submitted by aaron durden on April 22, 2006 - 6:44am. friends in sportsA friend is someone who is there when you need him. He accepts you for who you are. My junior year in college, I realized what true friendship really was.
I played baseball at Oklahoma, and coach had a new catcher come in from Arizona. I had 2 extra bedrooms in the apartment I was living at, so coach put the new guy in with my roommate and I. This roommate named Ryan Richardson had a bunch of problems. He suffered from severe depression and hated the world. He did not want to be here at Oklahoma as his family forced him to come after being stabbed in the back by two major schools in Arizona. I heard him talking every night to his family in Arizona about how much he hated it in Oklahoma. I warned the coach that he might lose his new catcher because he was not happy. Ryan’s misery and depression revolved around people cheating him in his life in baseball. His life was one-dimensional with baseball.
the holy spirit is awsome
Submitted by aaron durden on April 21, 2006 - 3:51am. ReligionAt the tender age of 14 my life began when it very easily could have ended. I was told I had a malignant brain tumor, and I felt like my life was over. I had been a sports star in my early years, but God was taking me somewhere else. I was scared to death those first few days after I found out about my fate.
A few days after I found out, I felt this amazing presence come upon me, and I swear it was the spirit of God. He had been knocking on he door for 14 years now, and it was His time to come in. He calmed my fears and worries about what was getting ready to happen to me. I went to my parents and told my doctor that I wanted the tumor out of my brain immediately. I faced caner and possible death without a fear in the world because I knew God was there on my side. I walked in a 14 year old child, but with Gods help I persevered and gained life experience. Through my first trial I came out smelling like roses.
college athletes deserve more
Submitted by aaron durden on April 20, 2006 - 6:55am. SportsThe NCAA watches over college athletics, but they do not watch over the athletes. Instead they exploit the athletes to make money for their self. The focus is on the organization over the well being of the players. The player cannot promote himself or the team, but has to promote the NCAA Athletes are exploited by the amateurism rule. In my own words, I think this law says, if you are an athlete you cannot do anything to help yourself or any outside group from the university. It says if you help anyone else you get penalized even if you don’t make any money off of it. You cannot accept any aid from an outside source. You violate the law if you get a ride to practice from someone besides a teammate. Athletes are on a very tight leash. It is a law to prove the dictatorship society the NCAA claims to be. You can only help us, and if you disobey our rules, you can’t play. This is a very self-centered and heart less rule.
taking a firm stand for what you believe
Submitted by aaron durden on April 19, 2006 - 7:14am. beliefs | ReligionNo matter what the odds are against you, always stand up for what you believe in. When God puts something on your heart, let the whole world know what it is. Some people may call you crazy or wild, but that is their opinion. You have divine inspiration for what you are doing, and you will get great satisfaction for it. It is for the glory of God as he blesses our lives in many different ways. Others are jealous of you because of your zest for life and love for God. They could be the same way, but they don’t have the courage you do.
