Morning Musume's 'Mikan' miracle

Resembling nine silver torpedoes, Morning Musume rips through 'Mikan' during the Wonderful Hearts theater tour in January.

(No rating): It was thought that poor-selling "Mikan" might mean the premature end of Morning Musume as a preeminent force in Japanese idol music and J-pop overall. However, a sizzling run of "Mikan" performances during the Wonderful Hearts tour in January -- and the amazing three renditions during the two-day Hello Project Winter 2008 Awards Show at Yokohama Arena, Jan. 26-27 -- showed critics were more then wrong. It was a long-awaited awakening of the Pands, LinLin and JunJun, that led this surge, according to sister blog Best in J-Pop in this special, lavishly illustrated report!
