ZYX and the perfection of 2003

(No rating): The shelf-life of Hello Project junior groups Berryz Kobo and °C-ute defies industry norms because, in the idol-music business, groups come and go, mostly because the teen performers grow up and out of the music-dance field in a hurry. Not so with Berryz and °C-ute, which have now been around for some years; Berryz formed in 2004, and the kids left out of that group were in 2005 bundled into °C-ute, and both have been stunning successes for almost a half-decade -- culminating in a "Battle Concert" between the two on April 20. But before Berryz and °C-ute, there was a common denominator, ZYX, in a journey that was not without its bumps. Sister blog Best in J-Pop has an updated and expanded report!
