Cucumber is a great home remedy to reduce heat and inflammation. It can be eaten raw or pickled and is also used in cooking. This cool fruit is popular among women because it is normally used to soothe tired eyes.

1) Cucumber can be used for skin problems because of its diuretic, cooling and cleansing properties.

2) It helps to heal a range of ailments-including lung, stomach and chest problems, gout, arthritis and tapeworm.

3) To reduce heartburn, drink fresh cucumber juice. The same applies for people suffering from gastritis or stomach ulcers.

4) To reduce puffiness of the eyes, place a cucumber slice over closed eyes and relax.

5) When taken daily, cucumber juice may help to control cases of eczema, arthritis and gout.

6) But keep away from pickled cucumbers. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, because pickled cucumber has lost most of its vitamin. Secondly, because pickled cucumber is also high in sodium. You don't want to get sick, do you?

7) Regular intake of cucumber juice is very useful for both internal and external well-being.

8) Cucumber has 90 per cent water. It is known to be a cooling agent owing to its high water content.
