Beginning Training in Heavy Weapons

The third week of practice I was geared up with the help of one of my new friends. He gave me some gear to wear so I didn't have to use some of the regular loaner armor. I didn't much like the elbow armor that was given to me because it was lose but it was better than the other loaner armor so I dealt with it. He also gave me gloves and then we found a shield to use. He brought some chest armor he used to wear and I used that instead of the leather from the week before. And then one of the other guys suggested that I put my elbow pads I had bought to protect my upper arms in the helmet. It was perfect and I was able to see.

Once I was completely geared up, we went out and began to do basics. He had me hit him in various places. Head, shield, leg. Some shots were better than others. One of the problems though is that you get tired quick when you aren't used to it. So I didn't do much that night. But what I did do was fun and definitely made me realize I made the right decision to get into this.
