Beer Bread with Nuts

breads | vegan

3 cups self-rising flour
1 12-oz can of beer
2 tablespoons sugar
**For those truly concerned, the following brands use absolutely no animal parts in their production process: Anheuser-Busch, Beck's, Miller (plus others but these are the main and most commonly found)

Mix all ingredients and put into greased loaf pan. DO NOT OVERMIX! Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour.

Options: You can cut down on the self-rising flour and add whole-wheat flour, bran flakes, rolled oats, nuts, and 1/2 cup raisins in any combination. For example, I use 1 cup white flour, 1 cup whole-wheat flour, 1/2 cup bran flakes and 1/2 cup rolled oats.

Makes 1 Loaf

I say to hell with militant vegans. I’m just a woman who got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I changed the way I ate and threw meat, dairy and eggs out of my diet and went from not being able to peel myself off the couch to running seven miles a day. I don’t recommend veganism for everyone and I don’t recommend trying to become one overnight. It’s a commitment to a way of life- and if you’re the kind that can hack it, you’ll never bat an eye about going back.

My goal is to lead people to veganism by being a good example- not shoving it down their throats!
