Baby In A Microwave

Okay, this one takes the cake. Originally from CNN, now from KHOU.com, comes this story of a moron who, because he was upset about something, decided to take it out on his 2-month old daughter by putting her in the microwave and burning her, of all things! The child is in the hospital being treated for 2nd degree burns, while his behind sits in jail.
Here's two other things about this. One, he was in a hotel room, which he was sharing with his wife AND mother. Two, he was in town looking for a job,... as a minister! Moron! Oh yeah, the link takes you to a video; not sure how long it'll be around.

Moron is being kind catfish
at least to my thinking, and what link there isn't one that I can find.
No matter... your post covers the 'how dumb and mean' can one idiot be part. Maybe there needs to be some stronger punishment for any maggot who would do this to a baby. Just makes me sick how cruel some people can be, especially to those who can't take up for themselves.
Minister in name only applies here I think, sub-human would be a better defintion, because that's the way I see it.
Later on Catfish.
This is the strongest argument for abortion I have seen
Sassys
in a very long time! For starters there where 2 woman in that room? I think it's safe to say that if I were in a room with a man like that I would simply roast his nuts...bastard! ARGH!
Isn't it shocking, Sassys?
I mean, if he could do this, there had to be signs beforehand that could show someone that he was capable of it, wouldn't you think?

Well Catfish even if there were no previous signs
Sassys
what were the 2 woman doing? Did they just sit back and say "go ahead"
The man who did this is a monster no doubt...but the women are flat out disgusting to me...they allowed it! I am also SICK of hearing "battered wife" repeatedly, this was a BABY! I would have taken the punch for either of my kids in a heart beat...no excuses, NONE!
I must have missed it, Sassys,...
because I haven't heard anything about this woman being battered. You're right, though; did you read my story on Jeffrey yet?

Click on the word CNN, 2cat,...
and that's the link to the story. You know, my wife loves to say that anyone can deliver a child, but there aren't many who seem to have any real sense in how to take care of a child, and this guy and, I hate to say, his family, seem to have no understanding of it whatsoever. If so, I wouldn't have imagined they'd have left him alone with the baby. Sigh,...

I did Catfish click
the CNN link today and way early this morning, sorry buddy but it ain't working on my end. After reading your answer to P.W. I gotta say catfish this poor demented ass of a man, no matter his official tittle is no minister of God...I don't care how many times he might say it and actually the scarey part is he may even believe it, but it just isn't so.
These sort of things give me the creeps in a big way if it ain't bad enough for any abnormal creep to do something so horrible and unthinkably evil... no one can blame God, because God wasn't in that equation from the begining, that man is consumed with something and it definitely is not good or of God, as for his family...I have no comment, except where were they when he needed help or stopped??
later catfish friend.
I just changed it, 2cat,...
because the video moved on CNN; that happens sometimes.
I agree with you on the dementia, and even if we toss out the minister part, which is still somewhat shocking, this man was the child's father, and come on, just how bad can a 2 month old be anyway? I've heard some mothers talk about all that crying driving them mad, but I have to say that I've never had problems getting a baby to stop crying, and I've never been a parent.
I know men will do some stupid things without thinking, but this is one of those that never, and I easily mean NEVER, should have even came into someone's mind.

Sorry about that catfish
the link I mean, and I wasn't really complaining about it, what I meant to say was you are one of the few people I read, whose word is good enough for me. I did not really need the link. To bad you aren't a father, in my opinion you are heads and shoulders above alot of those who are.(no pun intended big guy).
Have a great one catfish, good post, sorry excuse he( the professed minister) is for a father.
You know catfish it brings to my mind a horrible case of abuse in my own life (not done to me personally) but an acquaintance, some day I will post about it.
No problem, 2cat,...
it's sometimes shocking because you just never know where the latest craze of stupidity and cruel indifference will come from.

God, Catfish! I just don't know what to say about
this. I mean, I do know what to say - put that bastard in the microwave and let him see how it feels; lock him up and throw away the key; put him in the general population and circulate pictures of the burned baby to the rest of the inmates - all the usual. But other than rant, I can't seem to come up with a coherent thought. Things like this just make me feel so helpless and depressed. What kind of progress have we really made as a species when there are so many humans that still do such monstrous things. Jeez!
Monstrous and unthinking, PW,...
because I'm not sure that this was one of those conscious thoughts of inflicting pain and terror from this idiot. Still, I believe this is the type of thing that probably goes on all the time, only most idiots know to stop as soon as they're thinking about it. But it's the extra thing that threw me off, the "minister" part, that just makes one wonder whether he finished last in his class or something.

I've worked with so many children who were so
horribly abused, Catfish. None of their stories ever made it to the papers because their parents were cagey enough to keep them hidden until their wounds were healed - or the parents were lucky enough to snap out of it before they inflicted lethal or near-lethal damage. So, I know that much, much more of this goes on than we ever hear about. Actually, the "minister" part didn't surprise me all that much at all. No need to call a shit-storm down on your post with my opinion of most "ministers."
If you'd had to, PW,...
I would have understood. And I believe things like this happen more often than we hear about, but it really brings home the fact that people are people, no matter their title, doesn't it?

And, just to show that, when it rains it pours,...
a local story has an aunt intentionally holding her niece's head in bath water and drowning her; we still don't know the reason why, it would seem. What's this world coming to?

EGADS!
Sassys
Now see? Evil is not just a mans territory. I may just have to write a blog about one of my best friends mother, she was brutal, and I witnessed it.
I hear you there, Sassys,...
but it's not evil so much as the reasons why each sex might do something. A woman might do it to be cruel, but a guy might do it just to satisfy some curiosity. After all, there's way more men putting stupid stuff in microwaves than women.

LOL Catfish very true
Sassys
Men are like cats...only not quite as smart.
Based on some videos I've seen, Sassys,...
I'm thinking cats aren't as smart as people like to think they are. Course, I'm a dog man myself.
Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products
That's the way I see it, too, Catfish.
A women will generally be the one who does something for the pure cruelty of it. A man will do it out of pure unthinking, self-absorbed anger or sick curiosity. I tend to think that the cruelty motive is worse but the results are the same.
And, you know PW,...
it's movies like this Hostel series that bother me because I think it just gives people more ways of thinking about being cruel to others. Remember, I live about 15 minutes from the idiot who dug out his own dungeon and kidnapped and raped women for years in it.
Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products
Oh god, I didn't realize you lived that close to that guy,
Catfish. That would completely freak me out. And I agree with you 100% about the movies like "Hostel" and "Saw." I was disturbed just by the promos on TV. There are enough "ideas" in the promos to give the sickos fuel.
Yeah, I'm that close,...
but I'm not one of those people who feels drawn to drive over there to see the place for myself, which I understand really isn't much to see from the outside, because you can't see the dungeon from outside. Last night on MSNBC they ran their hour long special on that story once again; it's more embarrassing than anything else.
Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products
Eeewwww, yuck! No, I wouldn't want to drive over to see
the place either. That would be just creepy. And I can see where it would be embarrassing - to have lived that close to something like that.
Malicious evil
I've heard of people putting babies in microwaves to warm them up out of stupidity but this one is just evil. I have a daughter who screamed for a year because of reflux when she was a baby and we did everything we could to comfort her. I sang to her for hours sometimes with her screams cutting like a knife through my soul and felt like throwing the discomfort away but that was my baby daughter and I never ever let myself. I was ashamed of myself for years because a couple of times I lost it so far as to yell back. There are some babies that can't stop crying because that's the only way they can respond to the pain in their tummies. It wasn't her fault and it wasn't something she was doing to me. My wife and I just tried and tried and when it was just too much having our baby scream at full volume a few inches from our ears we just swapped over. To do the instinctive thing and throw her away would have been evil. How could a parent do that? You just keep your baby safe and endure anything for her survival. My daughter is wonderful and now she is a gorgeous, intelligent, feisty young woman of 19.
As for that man's relationship to God, well God has got nothing to do with evil. I've got a high opinion of God but not of people who boast about him/her and have the arrogance to stand in pulpits and tell others what to think but then show their need for power in other ways by being cruel. It's not possible for me to think in any merciful way about someone who would harm a baby.
This brings back too many memories of my child protection work.

you tell it like I know it is, though I have little experience with it. I just can't believe that people would feel they have the right to take anything out on a child.
For instance, on Dr. Phil on Wednesday (I know you don't get this show, but I've talked about it), this guy was on who, while fighting with his wife, had his young daughter come over and tell him to stop yelling at his mother, and in one motion he picked her up and threw her across the room. That same day, he went to jail for putting a knife at his wife's throat, because he'd just lost it.
Children don't have a chance on their own, and their parents are the ones who are supposed to protect them; they deserve hate and villification when they fail this particular responsibility.

And, to follow up on things,...
if y'all remember from a long time ago, there was a discussion on whether there was a devil or not, and I said I didn't believe in the devil. Well, here you go: the mother says the devil made her husband do it. Sheesh!
Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products
Well, I guess the devil is as good an explanation as any.
It certainly was an evil act. Jeez! What can one say? These people obviously need to be locked away and never allowed near another child.
True, PW,...
and I hadn't realized there were other children, or that the guy was only 19,... 19! A preacher at 19? Obviously he wasn't prepared for anything else in life. But when I read the devil comment, you know I thought of Flip Wilson.
