Arkanoid Video Game

I could see many people saying "What the hell is Arkanoid"! Especially the youngsters. Arkanoid was a video game that was very popular in the early 1980's. You would see it in many liquor stores or arcades you went into. The game wasn't that complicated, the concept was very simple yet the game was really challenging. You controlled a ship on the bottom of the screen (it really doesn't even look like a ship)that moved only left and right.

A ball would come down and your job was to make contact with the ball as it came down so it would bounce back up and break a brick up above, if you didn't get the ball you would lose a man. Once all of the bricks on top were destroyed you were allowed to move on to the next level. Sometimes when you would hit certain bricks these color things would come down and if you caught them with your ship you were given a special power. I don't remember what colors did what but let's say a blue thing came down and you got it then your ship would grow like double the size. Another colored thing,let's say red, would give you an extra man and so on. I remember my favorite being the one that would put three balls on the screen at once. I was great at it and could keep three balls playing at the same time. Arkanoid is truly a classic game that will live on forever.
