Are You a Writer?

t is amazing how many people call themselves writers. There should be a dozen different titles. There are writers who craft manuals, writers who create stories, writers who blog, writers who can take any topic and write a blurb about it. The list is endless.

I know so many writers who get paid to write, but are doing so many different jobs, that it is impossible to write a description of what freelance writing is.

What other job in the world can you work at day in and day out, and still have people ask, 'Does anyone pay you?" I mean, you would even assume the Avon Lady is making money, or the woman who makes candles and sells them at bazaars. Have you ever gone to a bazaar and asked a vendor, "So, do you get paid for this?"

I know a lot of people quit writing (less than six months) because they think it is a scam. This is sad, because they have not even made it over the learning curve. A lot of people quit because they are too slow and not making money. Not good...

If you have been writing and are having a hard time, just remember that other people have been where you are, and they made it. If you are a writer - you write. If you are trying to make a fast dollar, then writing is not for you. There are easier ways to make money . .
