Are We Having Fun Yet?

I am heading into a good week, so I plan to have some fun. This past weekend I experienced some bone pain due to my Neulasta shot earlier in the week. Neulasta stimulates the bone marrow to make white blood cells. White blood cells help to fight infections, so they are necessary if I want to get out and about. The main side effect is bone pain- usually in the large bones- tailbone, hips, sternum. The hot tub felt really good. : )
On Friday night the girls and I went to see the Broadway show Mamma Mia. It was so fun. We had front row balcony seats, so we could see really good. The show was full of good music and was funny and light. It was just the great escape I needed. My youngest now has a new dream- to be on Broadway. It was her first time to a Broadway show, so she was really into it. I loved just seeing the girls laugh and enjoying themselves. What a memorable evening.
I got a call yesterday from one of my daughter's (Sr. in H.S.) teachers for her Principles of Leadership class. Their assignment was to write a life mission statement and her's had a huge impact on the class. She shared it in class, which she seldom does because she is a little quiet. The main idea is to be thankful for whatever your circumstances are. She shared that our family has had many ups and downs lately, but we are thankful for what we do have instead of what we don't. Enjoy the moments, live each day one at a time, be thankful where you are. WOW! I have prayed that the girls will weather this storm and I guess that my prayers are being answered. They will come out of this challenge stronger people with a deep sense of the meaning of life. That is the most I could ever pray for. As I hung up the phone yesterday, I had tears in my eyes and my heart was lifted knowing that we will get through this.
