The headlines at the Wal-Mart checkout rag magazine stand blared, George and Laura Bush to try a separation for their troubled marriage. I hope it isn't true, but after watching the Kennedy Center Honors program in December, it wouldn't surprise me. It was reminenscent of the Charles and Diana days just before their announced break-up when they would hardly look at each other even in public.

George said he would stay the course in Iraq even if only his wife and dog were his only supporters. Well, it looks like it may be only the dog who supports him now.

I remember when the headlines in bold print announced the pending break-up of the Clintons. It seems like they patched things up for the sake of politics and are now happily pursuing their own agendas.

The limelight can't be too condusive to a good marriage. It is difficult to function with cameras everywhere but the bedroom and even more difficult when one is the President who is commander and chief of the most unpopular war since the Vietnam era.
