Are Democrats Serious?
There is a new commercial from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that you can view here. In the commercial, it opens with a statement that things are getting worse in America, followed by images of car bombings in Iraq, dead soldiers, closed factories, and hurricane tracking maps. These images are then followed by pictures of President Bush and Vice President Cheney. While the commercial does not blame the president for these problems, it is not that hard to do the math.
Are the Democrats serious? Are we really to put the blame for Hurricane Katrina on George Bush? How could anyone possibly believe that he is responsible for the terrible hurricane? A hurricane, last time I checked, was a natural occurrence, created by nature and God. Is George Bush God? I will concede that there were problems with the way that hurricane relief was handled, but to insinuate that the president is responsible for causing hurricanes is idiotic and asinine.

No ONe Blames Bush
No ONe Blames Bush for the hurricane, only the horrendous effort afterwards. People who went to shelters didn't have water or food for days....our government can drop food and water half a world away in half the time it took them to drop supplies to Louisana and Mississippi. While New Orleans suffered and the world waited...nothing was done....yes, you can blame the people in charge for that.
As far as showing dead soldiers....the media isn't allowed to show the coffins as they are lined up and returned to the states....I think the general implcation is those in charge of getting us into this mess don't want the public to realize just how many American lives have been wasted on a campaign built on lies.
The Dems are just showing what has taken place...what do you object to when the truth is shown?

Did you watch the commercial? It is very clear that they Democrats (who are perfect, in case you didn't know and always, always tell the truth) are laying blame for the hurricane on the present administration.
In response to your comment about not being able to show coffins, I must ask again: did you watch the commercial? It clearly shows a plane full of flag-draped coffins.

I don't watch television
For precisely this reason. If anyone thinks they are getting reliable information from a television soundbite, that person IMO deserves a smack 'side of the head. We the People, if indeed we are to have any chance whatsoever of maintaining government of, by, and for the people, need to turn the TVs OFF.
I said, TURN THE FUCKING THING OFF.
There. Was that one-syllable enough for you?
TVs exist for one thing. To sell. If you're buying, one word.
SUCKER.
It is up to YOU. Yes, YOU. You with the face. With fuzz on it, half of you. To spend time examining as many FACTS as possible on the issues of the day. FACTS. Not soundbites. Not some clown massaging the facts for his or her own purposes. The FACTS. And then make decisions based on those facts.
Yes, that's hard work. And you will doubtless discover that the FACTS don't allow you to demonize anybody. Except YOU, sitting in front of that TV and letting the world go by.
But in this man's opinion, that's what needs to happen. It's two minutes to midnight for Democracy, ladies and gentlemen. What are YOU going to do about it?
