AOL Doesn’t Know When To Quit

AOL’s popularity, as far as I know, is slipping. If it’s not, it should be. It seems this one-time internet leader is determined to keep customers at all costs, especially costs to their consumers.
I had no idea my story was so common. I signed on for the free trial. I canceled before the free time ended only to find continuing charges on my account. I called repeatedly and politely. Each time a helpful representative said that my account would be canceled, but I would still have to pay the charges already incurred to an account I did not want and had not used. When I explained this, they said that since the billing information was correct I was still liable.
I thought I was a rare case. I was even convinced I was a victim of identity theft. Then my sister described a nearly identical problem. And today I saw another victim on MSNBC’s show “The Most
