Another Way To Promote Your Blog

Blog Promotion | blogging | promotion

I've just found a new way to drive traffic to my blog. It's called 25peeps.com. It's simple. There are 25 pictures on the home page linked to 25 blogs or websites. Pictures stay on the homepage based on popularity, which is measured by clicks. Signup is simple and you must upload a photo. Your picture appears once the site has been approved. It took less than a day for them to approve this blog and my photo's up there now. It's too early to say what kind of traffic this will bring, but if you look at the 25peeps Hall of Fame you can see that some sites have had thousands of clicks. And those sites have normal photos. I'll let you know how it works out.

I hope google doesn't consider this fraud

They've made it pretty clear that anything that artificially drives traffic to your blog could be considered a violation of TOS. I'm scared of that stuff now.

Sounds like a neat idea though.

Yikes - I hadn't thought of that

Hmmm. Good point. I didn't think it was any different from the pixel ad sites. Besides, it's not a traffic exchange as such - I don't have to click on anyone else's picture nor do I ask them to click on mine. And no-one has to click on any ads. Maybe I'll take some advice on this, Brenna

I really don't know

I was involved in Traffic Swarm and Haven over on Writing Up actually contacted Google to find out what they thought about those kind of sites. It was a pretty cool reception - it sounded like I should cancel my account, which I did. You might want to contact Google Adsense directly to find out for sure. And then let me know :)
