Another Parent Takes Out Her Own Kids

Child Abuse | murder | underground

This is starting to get old, and that's scary if you ask me. Once again, a mother has gone totally off her rocker and tried to kill all her kids, except this time she went the extra step and also killed herself.

This time in Hudson Oaks, Texas, and everyone seemed to know she was depressed. Yet, she doesn't show up for work one day, someone calls the sister, who goes over to where the woman lived, breaks in, and finds the entire family hanging. Yet, of all miracles, the 8 month old is still alive; seems it didn't have enough weight to be killed by hanging, thank goodness.

Still, the mother and three children are gone, and this is becoming an epidemic, especially in the state of Texas, where this is not only the 5th high profile situation of this sort, but the second in this very tiny community in less than five years; last time, the mother made sure the job was done by shooting all her kids before she shot herself.

I'm missing it. As I've written before, probably in the other blog I used to maintain, if you're depressed and don't want to live anymore, sorry for you if you have to do it but you do what you need to for yourself. But why it's felt that you have to take out the family first, especially the kids, and then yourself,... can anyone really explain that one? And, is there really any way to figure out just who might do this sort of thing, and how to stop it? One thing's for sure; seems that, in most of these situations, the mother has had a child within less than a year.

The one person most people trust in their lives,... I don't know what else to say.

Where was the father Catfish?

Sassys
Seems to me that the men need to recognize the desperate depression their spouses are in...Not that I blame them, but my guess is she was freaked out about leaving her kids behind for some reason, and that's why I ask about the father. I am in no way saying that it's a vaild reason for what she did, but I do wonder.

against the father, so they hadn't been together since February. That, plus they weren't married; the story indicated he was the father of the youngest two.

Also post partum depression

is not taken seriously enough. I think some women suffer more than others do with this. I am not condoning what she did by any means, but I think that people should open up their eyes, especially the husbands, boyfriends, etc. It is a real sickness that really kicks in after a woman has a child. Some woman get thru it and some never get past it. They snap and this is what the outcome is. It is very sad, because it is very curable if aknoweledged.

I don't know much about it, ammorton,...

but, truthfully, we all see people every day that are depressed, even our loved ones, and we never really know just how serious it is unless we see them suddenly decompressing, or it's been diagnosed. That was always my problem with Andrea Yates, that the husband knew about it because it had been diagnosed, and he still left her alone with them.
