I've bought and sold many things on Ebay over the years. Overall, I really love it. I've had some great buys on there.

But nothing is 100% safe.

Two years ago, I purchased something.... Never received it, and never got a refund. I did file an Item Not Received dispute. And I did pay through PayPal. The seller sold a whole lot of things on there, then closed out his bank account. So Paypal was not able to reimburse me or any other people that won auctions from him.

About six weeks ago, I purchased several books from a seller on Ebay. The seller did not accept Paypal. They sent me a Google Checkout invoice, but I wanted to mail a money order in. I requested their mailing address, and I was given two different addresses. So I decided the Google Checkout would probably be safer.

After a week or so, I received one of the books that I purchased. I emailed them daily for a week, no response. Finally, I opened up an "Item not received" dispute. Mighty funny that they responded immediately to that. So they said they will mail me the books. It's been about 6 days now, but because of the holidays I am giving it extra time.

I have to wonder if I will ever receive those?
