According to Nassau authorities, Anna Nicole is having her personal pathologist undergo a second autopsy on her son, Daniel Smith, who passed away from a reported "massive heart attack" a mere three days after she gave birth to her new daughter.
The results of the first autopsy, performed by a doctor in Bahama, have not been released, and authorities said it will be up to Anna Nicole as to whether or not those results will be made public. The death was considered "suspicious" and called "unnatural," but officials later stressed that this was due to the age of the victim (20), and that police have found no evidence of drugs or foul play.
The young man was visiting his mother and half-sister at the hospital. Sometime the following morning, Anna Nicole and her attorney, Howard K. Stern, found the boy unconscious and were unable to revive him. 22 minutes after hospital staff worked to save him, he was declared dead.
Since then, reports have surfaced, questioning the death and events surrounding it. In particular, one anonymous source is quoted as saying the cause of death was "definitely not a heart attack," and possible alcohol use on the plane has been intimated. Original reports indicated antidepressants were found in his system, but this has not continued to be reported. Sources now say authorities believe they know what killed Daniel Smith, but are awaiting the results of a toxicology report, which should be completed next week.
An inquest, which Anna Nicole Smith is said to support, will begin October 23 and run through November.

I'll keep following this story, because it was shocking to me that he died so young. And Anna Nicole is a complete nut, so there's no telling where this will go. Still, I feel awful for the family and hope everything turns out as well as can be expected. Ironically, she went to the Bahamas to give birth in order to avoid the press.
