And the Verdict is in......
We went to get our big ultrasound this past Friday and our wishes have come true!!!!! We are having a baby girl!!!! Yippppeeeeeee!!! Although we would have adored another son and having a healthy baby is all that really matters, since we already have a boy, we were wanting to have a baby girl this time around. And the lab tech was able to confirm that indeed we are having a daughter, she looks healthy and now I get to go get myself into a lot of trouble shopping for her!
Oh, man......credit card companies are gonna looooooove me now. Scary!
By the way, we used the Shettles Method of gender selection and it looks like we are another one of Dr. Shettles' success stories! Go Dr. S!!!

I'm so excited for you and baby girl (and the rest of your family). It's funny, when I was having my son, everyone was having sons. And now that I'm having a daughter, everyone is having girls. The interesting thing is that I'm the only one I know who is having one of each gender amongst my friends with two kids. I feel so lucky!

i know! this is so exciting!!! i totally expected a boy too since my two friends that have sons my son's age both have just had baby boys! but hey....you & i are shettles girls.....so it MUST work! :-)

Seriously, for me, after keeping track for a few months, we only had to try one month. Not bad. We didn't follow every Shettles rule, but we did focus on the timing aspect for sure.

actually we probably had more sex, spontaneous or not, while trying for baby girl than we have had in a looooong time. i swore i would never let "the fire die" when i became a mom, but man, let me tell you.....after an entire day of having a little person hanging onto my every limb, the last thing i want is anyone else to touch me! i have always had a huge personal space thing, so this has really added insult to injury for my poor (and very patient) husband. this is another reason moving home will be good for us. having time alone together and dates will be HUGE! we havent really been a couple since we moved up here! that sucks.
we didnt do all the shettles things.....we focused on position, no O (fantastic.), and timing, but i didnt chart or take my temp or anything. and we "messed" up on the timing once....so i was sure i was going to have a boy, but i guess the girls were hanging out from before and beat out the boys. go pink team! :-) man, i love how personal this is getting. LOLOLOLOL!
anyways, brenna, we got lucky, sicne i kept reading that to conceive a girl using shettles can take a lot longer! we must be fertile myrtles. ;-)

I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to do this whole thing again, so I think God made sure I got pregnant right away before I could reconsider, lol!
We just did the timing. Neither husband nor I went for the "no O" idea :) Well, and I also didn't sit with my legs up or anything like I did before. I just hopped out of bed and moved around, trying to discourage those boys from getting their headstart :)
