And A Bloody Good Morning To You Too!

So I wake up this morning like the zombie that I usually am (I am NOT a morning person, never have been, never will be....but my toddler is....*sigh*) and half dragged myself to the dishwasher to pull out our coffee pot so that I could start my daily ritual of grind, pour water, brew, and imbibe.
I pulled out the pot and set it in the coffee maker then realized that large shards of glass were everywhere inside my dishwasher. I looked at the pot and realized that only the plastic handle and lid were attached to a small ring of glass....my coffee pot had exploded in the dishwasher overnight! And I was too tired to realize it first thing when I pulled it out.
So you can imagine how happily my morning started. Damn coffee pot. And mind you, this was a "top rack dishwasher safe" piece of crap to begin with. But then again, we did get it for free when we signed up for a Gevalia membership which we cancelled after deciding that with the amount of money they were charging us for tiny boxes of coffee, we could probably go on a vacation to Europe and taste their "Viennese" selections at the Hotel Sacher itself.
So I am off to Target. Gonna go buy one of those coffee makers with the stainless steel carafe. I need something bullet proof because this cannot happen again. I am a danger to society without my daily joe.

[sigh of relief]
When I first read the piece, I thought you had possibly cut yourself mightily on the shards. That really would have been a bloody morning. Glad to see that I was wrong.
I thought of that because I have always had two dishwashers in my abodes. Each of them with five fingers. And there was the time I reached into a glass to scrub it and only then realized that the top had shorn off ...
I got off without stitches ...
thanks oceallaigh
for your concern! :-) and reading about how you almost cut yourself to pieces washing a glass made me shuccer.....i'm glad you got out of it without any stitches too! jeez......
that sucks
Hope you found a better one at Target.

Mr. Coffee pchan!
yep! i got a mr. coffee with a stainless steel carafe!!! and it has 2 brew modes so i can brew my joe extra strong now. yes, i am a happy girl!
No More Glass Pots...
Learned that lesson. I would usually have one that developed a slow leak, rendering it unusable.
And with a coffee addiction, waiting is not acceptable.

aaawwwwwww!
As a fellow coffee addict (I currently drink one pot a day, but I used to drink three pots), I really feel for you! I'm absolutely worthless until I've had my whole pot. **blushes**
oops
Sorry, I meant to add that I'm really sorry about your old coffee pot, and I hope your new one serves you well in the future! lol
