An amazing coincidence.

I must tell this story today. It is an amazing coincidence.
This is Easter Weekend - in our part of the world one of the most glorious weekends, weather wise one could imagine. Clear blue skies, no wind, calm seas. Just the most perfect time to be out on a spectator boat watching the start of a yacht race. Each Easter weekend, single and multi hull yachts race up the east coast of Australia from Brisbane to Gladstone, a coastal city at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, starting on Good Friday.
My husband and I had tickets to watch the start of the multi hull section of the race, and we sat with another 20 or so other people on the top deck of the Getaway watching at close quarters the preparation of the race - we floated in an out of the yachts for an hour before the race was due to start.
It was perfect weather for us, but not the yachts. There was just no wind, so the race start was delayed by almost an hour. As luck would have it - we had almost another hour to enjoy the experience. When eventually race started, we watched them for a short while before [i]Getaway[b] took us back to the harbour.
The very next day, Easter Saturday I had an appointment with a gentleman, someone whom I have been commissioned to write his biography. We had spoken to each other on the phone, but never met.
When we came face to face we realised that we had in fact spent the previous morning together. He and his wife, my husband and I had all been together sitting side-by-side on the Getaway watching the start of the race.
What are the odds of that? He even lives about 20 kms from me. Amazing!
