"I just want to punch him in his bald head!"
That's the sentiment of one American Idol fan regarding Chris Daughtry's failure to credit the band "Live" for the arrangement of the Johnny Cash song "I Walk The Line" he performed last Tuesday.
I have to admit, I was rather impressed with his performance. I wondered all night how Chris Daughtry would pull of performing a 50's song, without losing his rock edge.
Let's just say, he didn't disappoint me. :) And he certainly didn't disappoint the judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul. They praised him for making the song "his own".
Do I think Chris purposely tried to rip of another band's arrangment? No.
My guess is that either he forgot to mention it, or it was edited out.
Could this affect his standing with the fans? Maybe.
But let's be realistic here, Chris Daughtry remains one of the most talented performers of the season. He's gotten this far because he honestly deserves it.
It will be interesting to see if there will be any mention of the Chris Daughtry buzz on Idol tonight or not.
One other piece of American Idol News... did you know that American Idol now has it's own pre-show? Yup.
For those of you who can't get enough of American Idol, TV Guide Channel will air an hourlong live pre-show before every Tuesday night show.
You can catch performances by ex-contestants, interviews, audition footage and outtakes.
So what will the Idol-hopefuls be singing tonight? Songs of the 21st century....
