Ambrosia "Biggest Part Of Me"

The members of the soft rock band Ambrosia all remain active to this day as session musicians, producers, and in other facets of the music industry. For a period in the late '70s and early '80s, they managed to place several songs onto the single charts in the US.

One of the biggest of those hits arrived in the spring of 1980 with the release of their album One Eighty. The album saw Ambrosia drifting further from the more progressive rock sound of their early albums and embracing the soft rock and pop that had already delivered the #3 hit "How Much I Feel." It was a similar song that was chosen to be the initial single from One Eighty, the smooth ballad "Biggest Part Of Me."

With striking harmony vocals and its breezy feel, "Biggest Part of Me" entered the US Top 40 in mid-April and six weeks later became the group's second Top Ten. It would eventually peak at #3 for three weeks, a position it would also reach on the adult contemporary charts. The song would also become a hit on R&B stations and, twenty-five years later, it remains a staple on oldies and soft rock stations.
