In 2002 the Amber Alert network became a national effort. Amber Alert is the reason that more than 230 children are safe and sound, at home where they belong.

Today a 3 day old baby was abducted near where I live. She was taken from the hospital by a person posing as a hospital employee. All day long Amber Alerts have come across the television. A week ago my sister-in-law had her baby in the same hospital that this child was taken from and she was telling us about all the security measures that are taken with the babies...so I have to ask...how did this happen? How can someone just walk right into a hospital and take a child with such ease.

I pray that this child is returned unharmed to her family and that something is done so this will stop happening. Enough is enough...something has to be done. A mother and a child should be protected during their hospital stay. In a perfect world we wouldn't have to worry about all of this, but it's not, therefore we must take steps to make changes. These babies and their families deserve to be protected.
