Well, I just read some great news! It's so good that it even compensates for spending another Valentine's Day single. In an attempt to help encourage Americans to shop and boost the economy, many of us will be getting a tax rebate check or direct deposit. The amount? Drumroll please.... Between $300 to $1,200. I always did like President Bush!

Although I am thrilled to be getting some extra money, I do have to seriously worry about our economy. We must really be in some trouble for something like this to actually go through. Between taxes, bills, and high prices, how can anyone except the extreme rich have the money to shop anymore?

To qualify, all you need to do pay taxes or earn at least $3,000. People that get Social Security or veterans' disability benefits qualify as well.

If only we could get great news like this on a daily basis. I guess a person can dream!
