There's no way I could only write about one or the other, so I'm putting both of these tragic stories in one post. There are no lessons to be learned here, unfortunately, except that people just need to find a bit more self control.
The first one is just totally tragic. A 12-year old has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 17 month old by baseball bat. What triggered it? The baby started crying while the other was watching TV and wouldn't be quiet. Of course, now they're trying to figure out what to do; sigh,...
The second is just sick. A 25-year old man called the police to say that he had killed his girlfriend, and was boiling her body parts in his mother's kitchen as he spoke. When the police got there, turns out he wasn't lying. The question they're asking, and of course they are because we are curious Americans after all, is if he ate any of the body. Seems this he's not saying whether he did or didn't; would he get more jail time if he had?
Here's something different, though. The first occurred in Florida, the second in Texas. Both happened on Saturday, where it was warm; here where I live, it was snowing. I always thought it was us up north who were supposed to get restless and short tempered during the winter months.
Sick.
