Well, after spending last evening thinking this over (while waiting on tables in an EMPTY restaurant!) I made the decision to head us over to Atlanta for bigger and better pay! For those of you NOT in the know, that is where Sassy lives.

Now, she and I discussed this last year ~ we even briefly talking about getting an apartment together. But, at that time my sights were (and still are!) set on the UK. It just didn’t seem to make sense to make a lateral move where I’d need to spend money on deposits and such. Of course, after living here another year and seeing without a shadow of a doubt that it’s impossible to save any money (one of my co-workers actually said there seems to be a curse on this town in that respect!) I’m going for it! And, when I say that, I mean NOW.

I know I’d posted about moving to Portland, but the expense of that kind of move from Texas would be too much. Plus, with the aid of Sassy, I have child care lined up already AND leads on jobs! Unless I arrive drunk to an interview, there’s no way to screw up finding a job immediately!

Add to that the promise that she’ll also get me laid ~ it’s win-win all the way around!

I’m so excited about this I can barely sit still! I’ll finally be leaving this shit-hole! YAY!!!! I’ll also be right near our Sassy and we can finally do all the stuff we’ve talked about doing together! I might even be able to talk her into that ghost tour she previously refused to go on with me! YAY! Imagine it folks! Your Spooky and Sassy in the same city!!! Call out the National Guard!!!

I’d be driving out tomorrow after picking up my last paycheck if it weren’t for the fact that the place I’m subletting won’t be ready til Monday. That’s ok, it’ll give me more time to settle everything.

Wish us luck and that the gas prices go down for now! We’re hitting the road and leaving all the pain and misery behind! No more ghost town! Only that beautiful concrete and tall buildings known as civilization!
